There are some lunatic thugs, but the nominee won't be one. Romney and Obama are virtually tied in the polls.
For the record, while I disagree with the Republicans on some issues such as what we're discussing in this thread, I'm not a single issue voter. I'd vote for Obama over Perry, Bachmann, or Santorum, but luckily none of them will get the nomination.
thats funny, for all my right wing friends also believe in a womans right to choose and birth control! thats why it will remain legal. All those closeted right wingers who want to access abortion clinics or for their daughters to, without the church or their neighbor finding out.
You willbe happy to know i want nothing to do with your uterus. And the texas law does not prevent you from doing what you want with your uterus
Obvsiously that is not the case....if not my personal uterus (because its way too old to care!!!) certainly any viable uterus you absolutely DO want to be your business. Which is why you have so many postings on this thread. Texas law is simply the first step they have taken to ensure abortions are so costly, and difficult to get that they don't need to be illegal. They are making it illegal to teach abortions in med schools as their next step. One step at a time is simply an approach. Governement intervention, right wing hypocrisy. All the same.
Prevention trumps abortion.
We will just have to disagree on the pro abortion issue. I feel strongly that id you support abortion you are pro abortion. And you feel you can support abortion and not be pro abortion
the same group of people trying to stop abortions also want to stop prevention. Now what?

I do no think this law in anyway involves me with yours or any other uterus

then you are not looking at your own "big picture". If you don't want access to ANY womans uterus via, making it your business...ie: making abortion or any other decision for her uterus.....your business, by making it illegal.....then why are you even posting?, or voting for people who will make it illegal. You have officially stopped making any sense now.

Well, I'm a right-leaning centrist who typically votes Republican. I wouldn't call myself a right-winger. And I believe in a woman's right to choose, as long as the choice is made early in pregnancy, and absolutely believe in birth control.
What's interesting is that, even though there is a Republican super-majority in the Texas House and the Texas Senate, the version of the law that actually passed was watered down quite a bit. It was a compromise version. Even though I'm even against the compromise version, the fact that the original one couldn't get through the Legislature indicates that a lot of Republicans or at least a lot of Republican lawmakers are at least somewhat pro-choice, at least in Texas.
Interestingly enough, the Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives is a pro-choice Republican (Joe Straus).
On the flip side, the Legislature's actions are definitely still influenced very heavily by right-wingers. What angers me more than this legislation is that the same Legislature cut funding to Planned Parenthood (for services other than abortion). I bet the number of abortions will actually go up even with this new law.

The law in texas does not involve me getting involved with a uterus. you make no sense to think it does

If you are not Texan then this particular law would not be directly involving you, but simply by being anti-choice then you are in effect directing politicians that are also of the same genre to continue to make laws in your own state and other states (perhaps federally as well). Therefore you are involved in a womans (millions of womens) uteruses! Couldn't be simpler
I want to stop abortion but in no way want to stop prevention now what
Simple, stop voting for anti-contraception anti planned parenthood politicians.
