I am pro-choice.

To the extent that doesn't violate anyone else's rights (including people in the womb).

But I digress....having children out of wedlock is a choice. I will not EVER speak against your right to choose.

That being said, with choice comes responsibility. As I said, I will not do or say anything against your right to choose.

As long as you don't expect others to take responsibility for your choice.

Fair?

At the end of the day,all the explaining back and forth and bickering doesn't matter.

The black men need to come to terms with the fact they just prefer white skin.
I mean, how hard could that be?

Talking about attitudes, obesity, among black women doesn't negate that fact.

I'm still trying to figure out why all these fat black men think they DeSERVE a skinny women.
Trust me,I see as many fat men as I do women.

But,ONLY on Cd do I ever hear about obesity being a problem dating black women.
Every other outlet for blacks I hear the opposite, that black women are getting too skinny and losing their curves.(ex.Jennifer Hudson,Raven Symone,Jordin Sparks)
Seriuosly, you should see all the men attacking J. Hud for the weight loss on other sites.

From listening to my black girlfriends(size 0 to 12) and looking around, black men don't pay attention to the skinny women, they seem to like the thick girls, and obese. These girls say when they walk down the street the bigger girls get all the attention.

I mean, just take a look at urban magazines...Buffy the Body,Bria Myles are skinny.
To add furthur,I hear so many men complain about Jennifer Hudson's weight loss, saying she got too skinny, they like her better bigger. They also talk about how skinny Zoe Zaldana and Kelly Rowland are and that they need to gain weight.

Anyone confused as I am about this?
Good morning,

A potential source behind the confusion is those who complain about those who are "too skinny" don't want obese women or skinny women. They want women in the healthy middle.

Sure, there are obese lovers but the average black guy would 9 times out of 10 would prefer a woman who is the true definition of thick, and fat or obese is NOT it. That word has been hijacked by those who want to ignore their unhealthy weight.

Even though losing weight can increase one's dating chances, at the end of the day, you can't use others' opinions to run your life. Figure out what works best for YOU and find a mate that likes it.

No black man in this thread is stating a preference for "white skin". Where do you get this from? I guess you have a high black male interracial dating rate in your area and are projecting your experience on the rest of us. 90% of black men marry black women. If they preferred white skin, why aren't they marrying white women in higher numbers?

Find forums that black men frequent and see what kind of women are being uplifted and what women's pics are being posted. It DEFINITELY isn't white women, it's mostly famous, curvy black women. At most you'll get a thick white woman pic posted occasionally.

You should survey these black men and see how many like skinny women. It is a well known stereotype that black men LOVE women with meat on their bones. I'm surprised you don't know this.

So,what is the healthy middle, definition of thick?

I think it depends on region, but generally, idk?

Was J.Hud thick and healthy before the weight loss?
Queen Latifah? Oprah?

What size does it costitute? Does it mean a small waist with large hips and thighs(o.7 waist to hip ratio)? Someone with huge breasts and nothing else?
Or
Does it mean someone with muscle tone, and no flabby areas and cellulite?
Or
Does it mean someone btween 150 to 200 pounds(with average height)

I hear a lot of guys screaming about thickness and yet there isn't a uniform opinion.

If the guys don't know, then how the heck are the women supposed to know?

The reason they aren't marrying white women is because they aren't marrying no women of ANY race in high numbers.
Its what I have been saying all along.
They aren't exactly marrying the white women they have oow children with either.

They just aren't the marrying type. After all,70% of bm are single too.

I know its no surprise black men love women with meat on their bones.
If that's the case then, why are men on here stating that obesity is a problem with black females?
After all,the obese women do have meat on their bones... just saying.

By obese, are they talking medical obesity,or what they see with their own eyes, their opinions?

Idk,men seem pretty bitter when they state the reasons they don't date black women.
I heard it all ranging from obesity rates, hair texture,to skin complexion. All things out of their control. And all things I see black men mentioning about those being the reason they don't date black women.
As a matter of fact, the last two, complexion and hair texture, let's me know right then that its about prefering white skin.

Another reason I KNOW its about liking white skin because any black man could have just dated a black women from another culture, like an African or Caribbean woman.

Hi Jerseygal,

Thanks for asking, I will answer these honestly. Some may get upset with my statements, but it's the generally accepted truth spoken by black men I've talked to or read online when women aren't around.

Your "small waist with larger hips and thighs" below is the best generally accepted definition between black men I've spoke to, read online, etc. If the waist is not small (or close to it), then she is generally considered fat.

-A small waist size compared to a larger butt/hips/thighs makes the most difference. If the waist is noticeably fat, then she is fat.

-If she has a small pooch / baby gut many black men will say she's thick, others will say fat. Baby guts are a borderline situation.

You are right to an extent, everyone has their definition. But just like a "pretty girl", between black men there are generally accepted groups of women who fit into the "thick category". Region matters somewhat, since black men in the South seem to give more leeway on the larger side, but can still acknowledge a fat woman vs thick even if they find the fat one attractive.

In a conversation with guys and no women around:
-Most would consider J. Hud fat before the weight loss and skinny now.
-Most would have always considered Queen Latifah as fat.
-Most would consider Oprah fat because she's been that way more than she's been smaller. It is her media stereotype.

See my first paragraph above for what size. Most men don't know what a numeric waist to hip ratio is, they go by visuals. It's like porn vs art, they know it when they say it, based on the small waist / larger lower body guidelines.

No, she just has huge breasts. She could be thick, fat, or skinny. Her small waist contrasted with her butt, and thigh size matter more.

Most men I've talked to or read online seem to like complete softness in a woman or a mixture of primarily softness with some muscle. Too much thick muscle is seen as "manly" not thick.

It's hard to give a weight range because height plays a part. A 4'11 160 lb woman might be fat while a 5'11 160 lb woman might be skinny.

Once again, it's best to go with small waist contrasted with thicker hips/thighs/butt.

Hopefully my explanation just helped.

The reason women are confused is because many men aren't usually honest when judging a woman's size in front of them. They'll use words like "thick" to label a fat woman to avoid angering women or to avoid lessening his romantic / sexual chances with those women.

I have personally known men who tell fat women they are "not fat", "thick", etc to their face so they could have sex with her, and tell men behind her back that he knows she is fat and is lying to "get some".

No problem, let's use out of wedlock birth stats. Why aren't the majority of out of wedlock babies mixed ones? They are born to black women and black men.

I have no argument that black men generally aren't the marrying type. But the stats disagree with your assertion they are mostly dating white women. It's virtually impossible anyway, as most white women don't want to date black men. I've read studies showing they desire their own race of men more than any other.

Maybe Burlington, New Jersey where you live is full of black/white couples but the stats show the rest of the country isn't like that. They are a minority.

You need to separate the difference between "meat on their bones" "fat" and straight "obese". It IS possible to critique obesity while simultaneously pursuing women who are thick but not obese.

They are probably talking about what they see with their own eyes, even though "medical obesity" fits their opinions. Most people don't form their opinions using a mixture of stats and personal experience like I do. Most only use anecdotes/personal experience.

The site I had read about thickness(assmatrix) states something different than what you are saying.
A lot of men, again, say J. Hud was thick beofre weight loss.(but to be fair, they were southerners).

The most common definition I hear is breasts and buttocks in proportion to the waist.
Nothing to large,or then she is fat. Also she can't have cellulite.

Only problrm with your definition is this: can a woman who is 300 lbs but has a small waist and big hips consider herself thick?
What about a 130 lb woman with a waist equal to her hip size?
