Not if convicted of 2nd degree or even manslaughter.

You're right, I stand corrected:

Quote:
second degree murder n. a non-premeditated killing, resulting from an assault in which death of the victim was a distinct possibility. Second degree murder is different from First Degree Murder which is a premeditated, intentional killing, or results from a vicious crime such as arson, rape, or armed robbery. Exact distinctions on degree vary by state.
I think it still comes back to who initiated the physical assault, which is something for the jury (if it makes it that far) to determine.

Quote:
justifiable homicide
n. a killing without evil or criminal intent, for which there can be no blame, such as self-defense to protect oneself or to protect another or the shooting by a law enforcement officer in fulfilling his/her duties. This is not to be confused with a crime of passion or claim of diminished capacity, which refer to defenses aimed at reducing the penalty or degree of crime.
Did Martin assault Zimmerman, and was he acting in self defense? That's really the only important question for the jury.

or just maybe they are doing their job unlike the Sanford police.

Get a grip yourself, EdwardA. Things have changed, but Fl to be frank went under the radar during the years the focus was on Bama and Mississippi. Sanford itself has had prior issues on this matter in recent years. If they ran a squeaky clean department with a good history, even one event as horrific as this murder would not resonate.

And in 2012 Zimmerman killed a black kid just for being there. Had he followed the orders of the 911 operator, he would not be in a cage now. He belongs caged, just as any dangerous animal should be.

This event would never have even come to light if Trayvon's parents had given up on learning the truth. In case you don't remember...the Sanford police department told the parents back in February that their son was killed in self defense and the case was closed. The police wouldn't even let them see the POLICE REPORT!!!!!!!

If he was your son, would you just have accepted what the police said, with no shred of evidence?

He stalked the kid.

Florida is apparently the only city that allows beat cops to determine the guilt or innocence of deadly force incidents with a cursory investigation at the scene. In every other state where there is a stand your ground type of legislation the person who used deadly force is charged with proving their innocence of a murder charge in a full out trial. Florida changed the law knowing it would lead to the wholesale killings of black people, and it did. Trayvon was just the latest in a string of similar killings. His death has brought wide scrutiny on Florida and its version of stand your ground and that's a good thing.

To believe that George Zimmerman is a victim of anything is to be beyond redemption as a fair minded citizen of our country. Do you have so little faith in the system that you doubt that a white man could get justice at the hands of the legal system? Why the fear? Why the hate? If Zimmerman is innocent, let him prove it. Innocent until proven guilty works for Trayvon as well. There needs to be proof of Trayvon's guilt to assert Zimmerman's innocence. There needs to be a trial. Trials can be flawed and trials can fail to provide justice. Ironically all this works in Zimmerman's favor. Why the fear? Why the hate?

What crime did Martin commit? I see the young boy extremely afraid of Zimmerman and any confrontation was actually Martin practicing his "right to stand his ground."

Zimmerman should be thankful that he is allowed due process; something that he denied Martin.

This arrest and charges had to happen due to the racially charged atmosphere caused by President Obama, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, the New Black Panther criminals and the press in general.
They got so many charged up to protest or riot that there had to be charges. (or else)

IMO based on the witness and history of similar cases like this in the press, he will not get convicted of anything. If he is made to be in prison before his trials stop there is a genuine chance of him getting murdered in prison.

All that is missing still in this circus is La Raza.
