Sure, but from whence comes White Supremacy? Protestantism with its emphasis on the Jewish racialism of the old testament, combined with 19th century Darwinism - a toxic mix.
Slavery and racial supremacy have nothing to do with religion and are not confined to any one race. Those issues have been with us all over the world since recorded history.
It's fine if people want to sit around and go over what they think is their ethnic or racial ancestry -- try to figure out their family tree but that's all it should be about.
As far as the government, it should be eliminated from all government forms. There is absolutely no good reason for the government to keep track. Even there, all race really is is the box you decided to check, it's not as though they're going to make you prove it which is why I leave it unchecked on the census and check other if I'm told I have to check a box. They can scratch their heads over what other means.
When census workers show up, you just tell them that you answered the required questions and race is none of their business.
Yes. I left mine blank. They never contacted me to change it. Maybe some government worker filled it in for me.
I find the postings on this topic quite amusing. Why (other than our all powerful government) does anyone care? I have never looked at anyone and tried to determine how much white or black blood they have. None of my friends ever talk about somebody's blood color. That thought never enters my mind.

The problem is our government forces us to focus on race and forces us to treat people differently based on race.
Realistically though, it has little to do with what you look like. It is all about your genetics.
No duh, I know about genetics. You said realistically ... a lot of our social norms have NOTHING to do with logic or reality. Like I SAID ... it has a lot to do with WHAT you look like when it comes to Black or White; we also have the term "Mixed." The term Mixed is usually self-explanatory.

I wasn't speaking of how others may view us racially based on our skintones. I was speaking of how our looks have little to do with what/whom we actually may be genetically.
I don't see a need to worry about it. However you wish to classify yourself, if you do, is okay with me.
