I live in Texas and why should I leave? Things are great for me and I get a kick out of all the doom and gloom I see on here. It's crazy.

Nothing like the good old insinuation.....

Did your crystal ball tell you it was probably an oversight?

Its amusing to see so many out of state people who have no clue about its demographics talking about Texas secession. It a majority minority state now and there is NO WAY hispanics and blacks will join in a movement to secede from Texas. Not to mention all the white liberals in the big cities. Do you think any of these groups would be happy living in the new Confederacy?

Mississippi maybe, Texas no way!

All I know is whenever I see the rolling blackouts on the west coast and power outages on the east coast I thank my lucky stars I'm in Texas where we have our own power grid totally independent of the rest of America.....

Just wait till the effects of climate change turn your great state into Sahara desert. It should not take long, you think the droughts in Texas over the past few years were bad? You ain't seen nothing yet.

Will Texas secede from Barack Obama's America?
Won't happen. Before long Texas will be a Blue State.

Ya, pat quinn is a fake. Almost all of Illinois' past governors are doing or have done time for being crooked.
Seems the last 10 years or so, we've had weak governors, wisconsin too.

Having 57% Texans vote for Romney and pretending that is some indication of a desire to secede from the union is about as delusional as it gets. While it is certainly a substantial plurality having 41% voting for Obama - remember this is just an election - would be exceptionally problematic for any serious proposal to leave the union, which is why such discussions are extraordinarily ridiculous no matter what side of the political divide makes the argument.

If Texas did, so many people would rush there, the state would tip over.

No, wait! That's Guam!
