Do you honestly have no idea how stupid that suggestion is?

I am wondering why a nation that has separation of church and state is taking time off for a religious holiday. A child cannot read God's name in a poem on Veteran's Day but this president can take off three weeks to celebrate and cost the taxpayer's $4 million dollars. Does something about this appear two-faced to anyone else.
So it was okay for Bush to spend a historic amount of money and time on vacation but not now? What changed your mind about that issue suddenly?

I'd almost prefer that he stays on vacation so he has less time to pass BS legislation.

I hope that the President has a lovely time with his family over the holidays.

Whether Bush was in Washington or not was irrelevent during Katrina. Whether obama is in Washington or not during the fiscal cliff DOES MATTER. He is going on vacation NOW because _______________???? What is the reason this vacation cannot wait until the fiscal cliff is dealt with??? I'd really like to know.
FYI, President Obama is leaving for vacation after congress leaves for their 6 week holiday vacation!!!!

How can a president negotiate with a congress that is not there?

You have no idea what a President's "vacation" is even like, do you?

Please, put your outrage back in your pants and get a clue.

Yes.

They can deny it all they want, but the outrage over this trip, and what some posters think the president should be doing instead, smacks of racism.

But, I do have to say how happy I was to see a few conservatives posting on this thread who see the trip as a non-issue and who had the balls to say so.

Sometimes you guys surprise me (pleasantly, of course) and it's one of the reasons I love City Data.

Evidently you think you are the only person on here that knows anything and you don't know much according to your posts. What we are talking about is a president that pretends to care for American but certainly hates true Americans. Instead of compromising and letting all the congress participate in the Democratic process he dictates and separates and like you seems to think he is the only person that knows anything which tells me he doesn't know much either.

I agree with the poster that says it is good for American and would be really good for America if Obama would go to Hawaii and stay. At least he would not be doing any harm to America that way.
