It will help workers ultimately. Texas is a right to work state and it's amazing how many people fled Michigan to come to work in Texas, and now Michigan will become more competitive, fewer people will need to pack up and leave their homes.

As for lower wages, that's the result of other factors like the open borders and massive immigration which in spite of what the liberals claim is their justification, anyone knows that it's all about bringing in much cheaper labor to replace Americans. Obama is very much for open borders and it's not really that he just happens to prefer foreigners over Americans, it's the cheap labor that is craved by the elite and corporations.

I'm sure many people in Michigan are more worried about it becoming a " Have To Work" state.

"More competitive" is code for lower wages. That is just what we need, workers working for lower wages so the owner class can have an even greater share of income.

I take this as sort of a consumer protection law. It will allow people to have a CHOICE whether to join the union or not. They will be able to due a cost/benefit analysis if the dues paid will provide superior health insurance vacation etc compared to what the company offers.
Maybe unions are worried their health insurance isn't as good as the company's? Afterall, many unions have been exempted from covering everything that Obamacare requires for all other insurance sold in this country.

If the unions are good stewards of the union members' dues, they should have nothing to fear.

Looking ahead to 2014, this action may very well be a gift to democrats - a good tradeoff. REpubs self-destructing.
Yeah, uh ...... no. So you condone violence, attempts to stifle free speech and eliminating the right of Conservatives to peacefully assemble and petition their government, do you? Good little fascist!

Well Obama supporters must see no problem with all this. They voted the guy back in who's been doing that very thing to the middle class.

The riots by union workers in WI and now the riots by union workers in MI just scare away the average American from supporting them. Times and people have changed and there is little if any need for most unions now.
