I'll tell you what. When a same-sex couple denied service wins a disrimination lawsuit based on the business denyiing the couple's freedom of religion, I'll take your argument seriously. How come these couples denied cakes, a wedding party, trolley rides, Never file complaints based on religious discrimination ? Answer to my rhetorical question --- Because it's not religious discrimination.
I don't think the baker was a government employee.
How would a "gay" wedding cake differ from a "straight" wedding cake?
Does it have "GAY" written on it?
Wedding cakes come in every color, shape, size, flavor, theme, etc. My sister had a blue wedding cake with white roses on top. The only reason the baker did not want to make the cake is he didn't like the customer. His cake was not officiating the ceremony, it is not signing the license, it has no role except to look pretty, and be eaten. The baker is not officiating the ceremony, or signing the license either. Other than delivering the cake, an hour or so before the event, he doesn't have to be there.

Well, yeah, like I said earlier - the baker is using his religious views as a crutch. A "license to discriminate", so to speak.
Sigh: This used to be a free country. You were free to hold religious beliefs, even if others disagreed. If you ran a business, you could choose to serve certain customers or not. I guess they want to take away all our rights, and just enslave us.
Not sure how an Oregon state specific law requiring all businesses to serve people regardless of sex, religion or sexual orientation takes away all rights or enslaves people.
The owner didn't say he didn't serve gay people, just that he didn't do same sex wedding cakes. I'm sure he has sold baked goods to gay people before.
