Really. I heard Obama say "If you like your insurance you can keep your insurance period". My insurance policy is being terminated. Obama lied. There's no spinning his way out of it so save your time jambo101.

Jambo101 needs to spend his time thinking about how he's going to spin "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. Period."

Because there's NO spinning that one.

At the time he said it he thought that was the case,so he wasnt lying, thats what he thought, it was only after the plan was underway that complications arose to negate his previous statement.

What Obama Really Meant When He Said 'If You Like Your Plan, You Can Keep It'

No, HuffPo, that promise has not been broken. Instead, that LIE HAS BEEN EXPOSED!

Broken Promise vs a Lie.

A broken promise = not working out as planned.

A lie = A willful and intentional effort to mislead and deceive.

If the repeated proclamation of "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. Period." was a broken promise, the President would be able to show that his Administration made legitimate efforts to honor the President's word.

Instead, the President told a bald-faced lie. Everyone, including him, knew that people would not be able to "keep their plan" if they "liked it." His Administration crafted the rules to make his proclamation IMPOSSIBLE for millions!

So lets be clear, liberals. BARACK OBAMA IS A BALD FACED LIAR.

This is his "No New Taxes" moment and it will be hitched to his legacy forever.
No. It was not a lie. Plans that existed before the ACA took effect were grandfathered in. Plans after that point were sold by insurance companies who knew perfectly well they would not be allowed to continue in 2014.

Obama did not say "If you like the insurance you will have in the future you can keep it".

That would make the regulations totally useless. What would be the point of a regulation if insurance doesn't have to meet its requirements? The grandfathering in of plans from before the ACA doesn't mean all plans for all time will be grandfathered in-- that's completely nonsensical.

This has been proven to be a lie also.

He stated "If you like your plan, you can keep it. Period. That denotes present and future.

You are absolutely correct in what he said. His statement was unequivocal and straightforward. He stated what he stated with assertiveness and sincerity.

The only thing about it was it is a LIE.

So you're saying the regulations on new insurance plans were passed for fun? Do you honestly believe Obama meant for the ACA to have zero effect?

Let's say you're a married man and your wife says "If you like your car you can keep it". Then a year later you can go out and trade in your Camry for a Corvette, and then when she gets mad you say "But you said if I like my car I can keep it, and I like my Corvette!"

That's exactly what is going on here. Your wife didn't say "If you like any car you ever get in the future you can keep it".
