i think calling this incident a lie is just the rightwing playing with semantics to as usual try to make the President look bad, another strawman if you will.
You are so gullible. And an Obama bootlicker.

No insurance plan is worthless.

You are really ignorant about insurance.

Yes, we need a single payer system. The problem is to appease the CEO's that run BCBS, United Healthcare, Harvard Pilgrim, Cigna, etc, etc. Not to step on too many toes. These companies need to go away just like Encyclopedia Britanica, and Smith Corona with the typewriter. Why is it we need to protect these billion dollar "for profit" health insurance company rip offs? Oh, to please republican big business. Remember when Obama had to cut a deal with all the drug companies making it so Americans had to get their drugs from U.S. drug manufacturers? You know a lot of the drugs they use in Europe are 10X cheaper than in the U.S.? I work in a hospital. Albuterol in England is about $10, in the U.S. about a $100 for the same milligram.

OK, you can keep complaining, but remember, when Barry is out of office in 2016, you can't complain about him anymore, just like we're not suppose to complain about Dubya; regardless of how much residual damage might be done.

Actually, it's "bald faced liar." Might be worth your time to Google it since you feel other peoples' intelligence is in question.

Bald-faced - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Yes, I am smarter than you. Get used to it.

"If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. Period." - Barack Obama

"Period" doesn't need a qualifier. "Period" is the qualifier.

Barack Obama qualified the statement with the ultimate in finality.

"Period."

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to decipher these words as stated. Unless you're a liberal. Then you might need some assistance. Obviously.

Someone is confused. First you accuse Republican's of fighting for "big business," and then you explain that Barack Obama cut a deal with Big Pharma to prohibit the USG from negotiating drug prices and to prohibit drug reimportation.

So, who do you hate here? "Big business" Republican's or the President of the United States who personally swooned Billy Tauzen of Big Pharma in order to get his support for Obamacare?

What Obama Really Meant When He Said 'If You Like Your Plan, You Can Keep It'

No, HuffPo, that promise has not been broken. Instead, that LIE HAS BEEN EXPOSED!

Broken Promise vs a Lie.

A broken promise = not working out as planned.

A lie = A willful and intentional effort to mislead and deceive.

If the repeated proclamation of "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. Period." was a broken promise, the President would be able to show that his Administration made legitimate efforts to honor the President's word.

Instead, the President told a bald-faced lie. Everyone, including him, knew that people would not be able to "keep their plan" if they "liked it." His Administration crafted the rules to make his proclamation IMPOSSIBLE for millions!

So lets be clear, liberals. BARACK OBAMA IS A BALD FACED LIAR.

This is his "No New Taxes" moment and it will be hitched to his legacy forever.

Oh the fake outrage. LOL.

You are ignoring the facts and giving the insurance companies a pass...because we all know that they NEVER do anything unfair or underhanded to their customers. What exactly is your gripe anyway? In the broader picture The ACA is better for the consumer.

The ACA cracks down on insurance rescission. Almost nobody did keep the exact same health plans from year to year: Premiums would go up or deductibles or copayments would rise or the precise list of in-network doctors would change. Or if you had an employer-provided plan, perhaps nothing employee-facing would change, but your company would need to cough up more money for health plans, thus depressing earnings indirectly.

That was life. A constantly shifting landscape of insurance plans in which people—justifiably!—lived in fear of losing good coverage. Eliminating that anxiety was one of the main reasons to hope for a proper system of universal health care.

Obama said you can keep your plan: An unwise promise that the president was right to break.

Though the author couldn't bring himself to use the word 'lie,' he at least admits it was 'an irresponsible promise,' that 'didn't make sense,' and the policy cancellations were 'a huge achievement,' 'part of what Obamacare doing what it was supposed to do.'

iow, he lied for what he believes is the greater good, to protect millions of people from their own ignorance.
