5. Gray’s sister and others say he did not own a gun. “Mr. Gray’s sister, Mahnefah Gray, 19, said that a witness to the shooting told her that her brother had been fixing his belt when he was shot. She, among others who knew Mr. Gray, said they had never known him to have a gun.” Gray’s cousin, Malik Vernon, also “insisted he didn’t own a gun.” [New York Times, 3/10/13; New York Post, 3/11/13]
Nah, it's not I don't suffer from Stockholm Syndrome, fortunately. Plus it's a legitimate question.

I'm familiar with the "hood" ; you know as well as I do that kids are carrying guns. You have no first-hand knowledge of what happened. Why not wait until more facts are in ? If it turns out, from the weight of the evidence, that the kid didn't have a gun, or didn't point it, I'll support you 100% in your opinion.
However, if he did point a gun ... he played and lost.
I haven't waded through 17 pages of commentary, but the bottom line is this:
Unless it can be shown that the cops put the gun on the kid, this is a 100% good police shooting. The claimed he pointed a gun at them, a gun was recovered. So unless the gun came from the cops, they were justified.
That's not enough evidence. It still does not prove that the kid pointed the gun at the cops. All it proves is that he had a gun.
Because it's a lie and the teen never pointed his gun at the cops. The cops think we are stupid
I happen to think you're probably right, but we can't know for sure, and we have no way to prove they are lieing. That is, unless it was caught on camera, but they'll make sure it wasn't.
