Well believe me, I'm not some dumb liberal parent who only wants to be a cool buddy to my kids. My kids -- boys and girls know what "no" means. When they ask if they can go to some party like this, they're going to be told no, and if they question the no, they will learn no means no, they are not going end of story.
Just like when I was growing up, when Dad said no, it was no.
These kids were never taught to say no to their biological urges -- liberals don't believe in teaching abstinence.

She went on to flaunt herself and became a sort-of "celebrity" appearing on "Dancing with the Stars" and then had a failed reality TV show. I'm sure she learned her lesson and is a born again virgin. Son Tripp gets girlfriend pregnant, gets married and baby arrives 3 months later, gets divorced after 18 months of marriage.

I just came from South Padre and witnessed young kids doing all these things to both men and women passed out from drinking too much. Urinating, stripping and taking photos next to the passed out person, fondling genitalia, tea bagging, etc I doubt any of these spring breakers will go to jail. I doubt the men and women violated feel all that violated in this culture, it's just considered normal. I think a lot of people in this thread are not fully aware what young people do these days.

Believe me or ask my kids, I have the bar set quite a bit before rape at a drunken party. I am not some liberal wimpy parent whose only goal is to be viewed as the cool parent who understands the need for young children to drink together and stay out all night. They're told no drugs, no alcohol, no sex. That should cover getting drunk and raping their friends.
I'm not saying the boys should not be in prison -- they should be in prison for the rest of their lives, but so should all the parents involved because they all most definitely neglected these children, the idiot adults certainly provided the unsupervised house as well as the booze and money for drugs.

When I was young and before I came to my senses, I too was a partier and the rule was "don't pass out with your shoes on." I did once, and my friends as well as some people from the party stripped me naked and posed with pictures with my dick.

I don't think you're a "dumb liberal parent." I just think you're a dumb parent. Of course no means no, and in my house, there are major consequences for bad behavior--big enough consequences that they'll think twice before they behave badly again.
Here's the part you can't seem to grasp though--what in the world makes you think she asked her parents to go to a party? What kid in the history of the universe ASKS their parents to go to a party where there's drinking involved? They say they're going to be one place, and then they go to another. For the record, my oldest is at a university on a full ride academic scholarship. My second, who graduates this year, is taking a year off before college to do community service work overseas. All of my children are polite, well behaved, and hard working. None of my kids have ever been in any kind of trouble, but I'm not silly and naive enough to believe that they haven't done things that I haven't found out about.
I see you making a lot of judgements and proclamations that you may have a hard time backing up in the future. I hope, by the grace of god, that you're kids are never hurt by anyone, or never do anything wrong that makes them vulnerable. Are you going to blame them the way you've blamed this girl if they're ever a rape or assault victim?
