I don't actually think she should have been made an exception to the rule, but I certainly don't blame the family for trying. Wouldn't anyone do whatever it took to try to save their child? Why the hate?
No hate. Somewhere out there, there are two families who have deeply loved, watched die, and buried their family member who also desperately needed a lung transplant. Their possible lung transplant went to Sarah instead. BTW, many of these are young teens with CF. This is my frustration.
This poor girl; she looked absolutely miserable yesterday. I hope they didn't prolong her life only to include more suffering.
It seems that happens so often because it's so hard to say good-bye.
You saw a recent picture of her? Can you provide a link to that picture? I highly doubt that the family released such photos. I am guessing what you saw was a photo of Sarah before her first transplant surgery.
As we were hearing in the news that Sarah's adult lung transplant was a "complete success" and that Sarah was recovering, this is what was really going on:

It was on the news the other night. She looked pretty bad and they were doing a story about the failure of the transplant. But it could have been old footage where she looked pretty bad, I guess.
Medical boards/ physicians should be able to make these decisions without threats of loss of funding. Government should be completely out of it. I can only imagine how much worse this gets with Obamacare coming

May I remind you that Kathleen Sebelius said that these decisions should be made by the medical boards and physicians?

I have inside knowledge that "modifying" adult lungs to fit is a too small body never has good results. After all the publicity, Sarah's doctors probably felt obligated to jam some adult lungs into her. We see now why doctors know more about medicine than a federal judge!
It's not just "her" doctors. They are looking at changing the qualifications if you read the link I posted earlier. It appears nobody has. They have suspended the requirements until next year and taking each case like this on a one on one basis and evaluating it until they decide on what actions they will take. I guess your inside knowledge trumps all theirs? What happened to the doctors know what is right? Her own doctors also said they wanted to do it.
Liberals and conservatives both want the government making decisions for them. And they both want judges over riding the will of the people. But liberals are the worse of the two.
The will of the people? Was there a vote I missed that decided who got what lungs? What are you talking about?
Its not a liberal vs conservative issue. You fell for the media manipulation like so many others. They played with your emotions.
