Get a clue. Not everyone who disagrees with the transplant is a liberal - NOT EVEN on this particular thread.

Do you guys ever get tired of trying to split the country in half with your partisan BS?

So you think that judges should over rule medical professionals, based on emotional reactions.

Good to know.

What death panels?
Medical professionals, specifically transplant surgeons, created the transplant guidelines based on best possible outcomes. The JUDGE over ruled the medical protocol.

Are you an expert on lung transplants now? It just might be that lungs get rejected just as often by anyone else, adult or child. Those lungs may have been a bad transplant for anyone. Maybe the person was deceased too long, and the lungs were just unable to recover.

The bureaucratic death panels, where a bureaucrat stands between you and your doctor and says "nyet," which is exactly what Kathleen Sebilius did to this girl. Her doctor and her congressmen pleaded to allow the rules to be relaxed, and Sebilius said "no."

Sebilius refused to go against the transplant protocol put in place by DOCTORS.
Government should not be changing the rules based on emotion, DOCTORS set the protocol based on best possible outcomes.

That's the new norm in the organ program, right?

Poor thing, going through all that unnecessary surgery over and over, when it can't do more than give her a couple more months. It's obscene.

This is no worse than wasting a hip transplant on an 80-year old.

Or maybe that is what the family is implying to justify why they burned through 2 sets of donor lungs.

Actually the transplant list is overseen by a board of directors comprised of transplant surgeons and bio-statisticians. They have done their due diligence to make sure the transplant list is unbiased, fair, and allows for best possible outcomes. If someone has the money to hire an attorney and sue in court for an injunction on the transplant list protocol, this tarnishes a fair and unbiased process. Money should in no way, shape, or form be able to buy transplant organs!
