Why the difference in attitude and approach by Obama? Could it possibly be Morsi's obvious hatred of Israel, and Mubarak's moderate attitude?

With money, he will make sure MB prevails, no matter what happens with Morsi. He is using Islamic extremists against the moderates, that's his game and he will force that on the people, whether they like it or not.

You are aware that Huma, Hillary's closest assistant, is MB. Valerie Jarrett is also very sypathetic to their cause. Valerie runs the White House.

But we have it deeply in by the money going to the Egyptian military who just took control with basic provision they would not like before interfere with civilian democratic control by elections. What is our policy on over throw of democratic elected governments? Only those we approve of; if we do not stop the flow of funds to the military in Egypt .What message does this say to those in other areas we are trying to get to the ballot box over guns in the same area. come but even if you win the election we will not stand by your election and will recognize those who forced you out. If this is policy then we need to get out entirely rather than be a bad broker of such peaceful methods which we lie about .I say withdraw the military aiod based on the terms it was given and pay the price and not recognize the new government.

Mathaba come from Africa, that is the source of this article. The writer says that things didn't change after Mubarik and things won't change after Morsi. He concludes that Revolution takes time and more will die before real change will happen. Meanwhile the people of Egypt reject any interference from Washington, but we can't seem to help ourselves. Word is, we are sending troops (unconfirmed). These protests have been massive, but peaceful. Maybe we can shake things up.

SCAF, stands for Supreme Council of Armed Forces, the military.

Quote:
Reports suggest SCAF plans a new constitution. New elections will be called. They'll be held soon as possible.

Morsi's election was tainted. His fate is unknown. Perhaps he'll remain a powerless figurehead. Maybe he'll stay that way until someone replaces him. Post-Mubarak, SCAF took power. It did so again.

Obama tried to save Morsi. So did Joint Chiefs chairman General Martin Dempsey. They urged SCAF not to issue a 48-hour ultimatum. They proposed leaving him in office, stripping him of power, and installing a transitional government ahead of new elections.

Reports said SCAF head al-Sisi rejected Washington's demands. Unconfirmed ones said Washington sent or plans sending hundreds of US troops to Egypt.

Perhaps special forces are there. On June 19, a Fort Hood press release headlined "6-9 Cav. to support peacekeeping in Sinai," saying:

"The 1st Cavalry Division announced today a battalion task force from the 3rd Brigade Combat Team will deploy to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula this summer as part of the Multinational Force and Observers peacekeeping force."

A 40+ US battalion is involved. Perhaps greater numbers are now. Sinai deployment maybe shifted to Cairo.

A so-called Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) is composed of troops from 13 governments. It's trained in riot control. It's mandate is controlling violence. Its mission is serving US imperial interests.

Washington already has its nose in this. To the tune of 1.1 billion dollars and the only real term was that they didn't move against a democratically elected government which is exactly what they have done. Never once did you hear the administration warn that funding would be cut off or do you now hear it under that agreement. I don't think its loss on the Muslim world. It will effect every where we are calling on Muslims to give up arms and join in the democratic process. Heck this administration can't even say the word Coup.

That makes no sense, if he was truly supporting the MB he would start pulling the Egyptian aide, but he didn't. He needs to deal with the MB, they are a large part of Egyptian politics and any peaceful solution will still involve them. Your article is over a year old, why wouldn't the white house meet with them?

Huma Abedin is not a member of the MB and neither is Valerie Jarrett, that is just nonsense from tin foil land.

The Army said the MB may be locked out of the next set of elections.
The Obama administration supported the Brotherhood before the military coup that ousted Mubarek.
Records show that the Brotherhood has been invited to the WH since 2009 when Obama first came into office.

ISNA is a Brotherhood front in the US. The FBI designation goes back to 1987.
Yet once Obama got into office they welcomed them with open arms.
Valerie Jarrett was even a speaker at their 2009 convention.

Now the WH and the MSM are trying to portray a different story.

In 2009 the Brotherhood was welcomed as part of Obama's "Outreach to Muslims" after his big Cairo speech.
