Prosecution closing arguments tomorrow. Defense is Friday.
Ok, and after that its up to the Jury how long they need to make their decision.
Can the tudge, or is the judge, allowed to overrule the Jury's decision?
Are closing arguments tomorrow? can the Jury come back with a verdict tomorrow if thats the case?
Im not to familiar with this stuff so thats why Im asking.
Unlikely. Both sides have estimated their closes will take 3 hours, so that's 6 hours. The jury doesn't come in 'til 10:00 tomorrow. I suppose they could finish, but it's extremely unlikely the jury will decide unless they deliberate into the evening, which they could.
They get in there and first, appoint a foreman. The they will typically take a vote. I suppose if they all vote not guilty right out of the box, it could be over very quickly. Wouldn't that be something!!!!! Usually, though, even when it's cut and dried, they want to talk about their reasons. Remember...there are just 6 of them.

If I was a betting man, it will go to the jury late Monday with a verdict early Wednesday, closing arguments on Thursday and Friday. The jury will be instructed most of Monday getting the trial in the afternoon.
I think they said that each close would take no more than 3 hours each - right?
So I assumed they would both be done tomorrow.
I could be talking out of my butt though.
O'Mara thought that made more sense, but the Judge said she made the decision for the consecutive days as that made sense to her. lol Guess she will sit in her office and look at her John Lennon poster.
This trial has taught me two things: (1) If someone is following you and you fear for your safety, call the police so that if the person kills you, there is no questions about who was the ultimate victim. (2) If you shoot someone, make sure you kill them so that no one will ever have the chance to hear anything different than what you state (esp if no one else saw the entire account).
There are three sides to every story, and we were only able to hear one. Common sense tells me that what happened is somewhere in the middle. I am happy that there was a trial. Regardless of the verdict (guilty or not guilty), he had his day in court. That is really all anyone could ask for.
I would think it costs a lot, since it's usually used in Hollywood film-making.
You might be right. But given the degree of animation on even youtube vids, I'm wondering if it isn't a lot more reasonable than we might expect. Honestly have no idea.
