It most certainly is marriage. Just because you have a problem with, we should call it something else? Same Sex Marriage has been the law in our land for quite some time, whether you approve of the word or not.

Yes, things would have been easier if our country thought ahead and kept the "sacrament of marriage" separate from civil, legal marriage, but they didn't. So we have to live with it.

It's marriage. There is no other word for it. Separate but equal has never worked.

I don't feel at all "ripped off" by the word marriage being used by gay people. IMHO, that is a strange way to feel about a word.

Christians just adore the thought of being hung on a proverbial cross just like their savior, and so they see it everywhere.

Religion has run roughshod over entire civilizations for thousands of years and then pretends to be meek and vulnerable when it is challenged. Oh boohoo, one professor in one school wants students to commit blasphemy so the whole world is out to get me. Boohoohoo.

Meanwhile, asshat pharmacists are imposing their values on customers by not filling birth control perscriptions, asshat religious missionaries refuse to give birth control to Africans thus killing them by the thousands; God is on our money, in our Pledge, inscribed on courtroom walls, we swear on Bibles, Obama gets lambasted for not mentioning God enough in his speeches, non-Christians are never elected to high public office, religious loons are free to scapegoat people they don't like for natural disasters and terrorist attacks ...

I mean, ****, the list is endless. Religion almost ALWAYS gets its way in this country, and while all of this crap is going on, Christians still have the audacity to *****, whine, and moan about being persecuted ... BOO EFFING HOO!

My advice for the author of this article is to go find a nice big cross and nail yourself to it. Get it over with."

So someone expresses their opinion which you don't like, and your response is for them to go nail themselves to a cross? I'm so tired of hearing liberal gay activists complain about intolerance when they are incapable of showing tolerance to other groups. DO you honestly think something like this is justice? If you have the higher moral ground then you should be equally offended at ANY group who does such things to others.

Hazelmary and Peter Bull, Bed & Breakfast owners in Marazion, Cornwall in England, have been forced to sell their business, the Chymorvah Hotel, following a slow summer of business and a legal battle over a gay discrimination case, the Daily Mail reported. The couple also reported death threats, vandalism, and corruption of their website with pornography.

"Last winter was terrible, we were actually shivering and were hungry – we are coming towards next winter and dreading it," Hazelmary told the Daily Mail. She said they have been forced to sell their nine-bed hotel for £750,000, approximately $1,206,075, but the owner doesn't believe she will receive as much as the asking price.

The Bulls also claim that vandals have removed the wheels from their car and nailed a dead rabbit to their fence, and have also reported death threats leveled against them

They weren't forced to sell, they decided to.

The other alleged acts are despicable, of course.

So if I support and participate in gay marriage, I am basically calling Jesus a liar. And anytime Jesus talks about marriage, it is ALWAYS between a man and a woman. You would think He would have included same sex unions if it is all fine and good. I think I'll take His word over what some CNN gallup poll tells me to believe in.

Not sure if you got the memo, but we're not in the United Kingdom. They have different laws.

The definition of marriage has changed many times throughout history. The definition of words evolve with society. If you think that they don't I think you are very nice.
Spoiler
Word History Five hundred years ago, when nice was first used in English, it meant "foolish or stupid." This is not as surprising as it may seem, since it came through early French from the Latin nescius, meaning "ignorant." By the 16th century, the sense of being "very particular" or "finicky" had developed. In the 19th century, nice came to mean "pleasant or agreeable" and then "respectable," a sense quite unlike its original meaning.

And yet they were fine with making a cake for a baby shower for an unmarried mother, and cakes for second marriages.

Way to pick and choose your "religious beliefs".
