Americans did not want us to become involved in WW I, but Wilson got his way on that so Obama will get his way on this new war.

Bush II was a Liberal and not a Conservative.

Let me answer this, and contend that those who disagree are dead wrong.

To begin with, the very need to ask the question reveals just how far we have fallen into the bottomless pit of insanity. To coin an old quote ... "there is no such thing as a good war or a bad peace" ... war equals death and destruction, depravation and decline, human and animal suffering and an affront to everything good about human nature, and a demonstration of our least admirable traits. Only in the instance of legitimate self defense should war even be a consideration, and that self defense should be strictly defined, excluding the fraudulent pretexts of "protecting or defending" strategic interests ... be they geopolitical or ideological. Only in response to outside attack can self defense be claimed legitimately.

With that said ... how many times has the United States or the American people been attacked by a foreign country since 1941? The answer is ZERO ... and I say that, excluding acts against some of our military installations which pepper the globe in over 140 countries ... the vast majority having no legitimate right to be there in the first place, with said attacks often a response to our meddling in other countries affairs for which we also have no legitimate right to do.

With our military capability, we can defend ourselves just fine from our own shores, with our very capable Naval armada able to monitor and defend us throughout the globe. The fact is, a foreign power would have to be suicidal to attack us, as we could turn virtually any enemy into a green glass parking lot, and everyone knows that, including those few like Russia and China that could inflict massive damage to us only to be destroyed entirely in the process. A smaller nation such as Iran with a nuclear weapon or two, or twenty pales in comparison to the old Soviet Union with thousands of them .. and while we may consider the leadership of Iran as unstable or even crazy ... they are not suicidal, and would never dare threaten or attack us, only to face certain destruction. Therefore, all claims from our politico leadership citing threats to our national security are empty, and are just pretexts to justify our continued imperialism and domination of the globe which is NOT self defense.

The reality is, the United States has been the number one exporter of death and destruction through military hardware sales, both small and large, including such weapons considered WMDs, globally for the past 7 decades ... arming every tin pot dictator that will agree to do our bidding, as well as every opposition terrorist group fighting to overthrow the governments that refuse to be our proxies. That's the God Damned truth that the sleeping American sheeple seem clueless to. And all of this is to the extreme detriment of our collective security, both physical and economic, yet the public seems incapable of any form of rational thought, to include such an obvious decision that war is never good.

To simplify the question ... who among the American population would agree to bankrupt themselves and destroy their economic futures, or sacrifice their son or daughter to intervene in a conflict half way around the world that has no bearing on their lives or security ... particularly in a region to which has remained in constant conflict for a Thousand years? Those that might agree to do so, ought to be placed in a straight jacket, and housed in a room with rubber walls.

Much of TV media actively conspires with the White House to be messengers for whatever the Administration wants them to say.

Congress could approve military action, and this President then choose NOT to take it. I suspect that his response to Syria has been planned for many months. Other nations may get involved and impose some other non-military action onto Syria, with a military action being only a small component. This President is smart.

Whatever the case, CHANGE is coming to Syria, and it won't be brought about by the Neanderthal methods of Dubya and the Republicans. It will be brought about by a brilliant President of the United States, a black man, in a manner just as effective as his implementation in getting Bin Laden.
You're right. This conservative DOES oppose any move by the president. But I happen to know exactly why I do. Because every decision he's made, from butting in about the Harvard professor, to ObamaCare, to Libya, to the aftermath of Benghazi, has been THE WRONG DECISION. Every single one. So I look at his track record, and go from there.

US credibility wouldn't be on the line if Obama knew how to shut the **** up!
Exactly. It's a good thing Obama wasn't president during D-Day. Can you even imagine?

Why are conservatives against Obama going to war with Syria?

Because there is no reason to go to war with Syria. Obama is trying to gin up this conflict to distract the low information voters from actually looking at his failed presidency.

Boooosh, at least went back to the well of Congress numerous times to obtain Congressional authority.

Boooosh, at least went to the UN and got the inspectors to go back into Iraq.

Boooosh, at least went before the American people numerous times to make his case.

Boooosh, at least assembled a very large allied coalition of nations.

Boooosh, at least had the prior presidential administration and the world convinced beyond doubt that Saddam had WMDs, and they had irrefutable proof that Saddam had used WMDs in the past.

Obama had none of this before he decided to unilaterally invade Libya.

Obama has none of this with Syria either.

So no, Booosh did not do what Obama has already done.

...and Booosh did not do what Obama is trying to do again.

Do you think Americans have grown complacent because America has not been attacked?

As you know, there is a significant difference between the capabilities of Russia and Iraq.
