This wasn't the first blow-up for Florida theater shooter - CNN.com

Quote:
A few weeks before a texting dispute turned deadly inside a Florida theater,
the suspect Curtis Reeves had another run-in with a moviegoer, prosecutors
said.

Police said despite Reeves' claim that he was in fear of his safety, this was not a case for Florida's "stand your ground" defense. "Working with the state attorney's office it was determined that stand-your-ground does not fly here in this case," Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said. Authorities said a preliminary investigation had determined that there was no physical contact during the incident. It was popcorn thrown by Oulson that struck Reeves.Tepper said there was no evidence to support the claim that the shooter was a victim. She denied him bond.

Figures. Some folks have to be told by management to be respectful and decent, and when. And if they don't sit around waiting for management to tell them when to jump and how high, they depend on the government to do their thinking for them.

How sad is that? No wonder people go around shooting other people.

I wonder if this old, white, ex-cop watched Fox News rail about our nation's "addiction to texting?"

Either Poe's Law applies to that statement or the only appropriate response I could make would be considered a personal attack.

This is a perfect example of that old saying 'grasping at straws'.

If you can't beat 'em, make something up!

And the lesson learned from this….

Next time the screen flickers "Turn off your cellphones" then DO IT.

There was a woman on the local news tonight who appeared to be quite credible who said that she was harassed by the cop just a few days ago at the same theater for the same reason. She was texting and she said he made her uncomfortable by the way he was glaring at her. Then another person in front of her was texting and the cop went over and asked them to stop. She got very emotional saying it terrified her that it might have been them.

So why does this cop routinely go to the same place to just get pissed off at the same things? Strange.

It's the entitlement mentality that has prevailed in this country and society! It's all about me-me-me, and to Hell with everyone else! If there is nothing I hate more it is authoritarian, busy body types who b*** and moan about every little thing, and feel they have to run and tattle over every little thing, because God forbid they may be annoyed! Hey, guess what? Annoyances happen! Grow up and deal with it! I have no sympathy for Mr. Reeves what so ever!
