Every time i here some sanctimonious liberal from that country open their mouth, i thank God my kinfolk had the good sense to get the heck out of there hundreds of years ago.
I take it as a compliment that people who teach their children that being a drug addict is ok, and that prostituting oneself is an honorable profession think we americans are the foolish ones.
So not that many people listen to Limbaugh, there is over 310+ million Americans in the US.
It's on during the day here in Boston, that sort of precludes the working people. I try to listen to him on an occasional day off but he runs too many commercials.
Our athletes are making millions of dollars and have little interest in skating around in circles like a bunch of Dutch ice fairies.
Dutch ice fairies? Have you SEEN the size of the thighs on the male skaters? I think they could crush you with those muscles and not even break a sweat. And then skate from Amsterdam to Rome non stop at top speed immediately after.
Football is foolish, but skating in a circle for nothing more than a chance at a medal every 4 years isn't? He has a right to his opinion and everyone else has a right to consider him a fool for having it, particularly when he obviously has no idea what American football is.
Athletes are wasting their time making millions playing football when they should be concentrating on speed skating and making...nothing? And he thinks Americans are narrow minded.
Skating is closer to simple sport. The essence of sport is to push and improve one's physical ability on the personal achievement, and then possibly on a competitive level.
Football is much more complex than a simple sport beyond being a team sport. It is obviously great entertainment, and why it is so prevalent and popular. But without money, football might not go farther than college intramurals. And it is foolish in the sense that so many athletes palpably risk their bodies for life while pursuing their game for the short money.
I heard this on Rush Limbaugh the other day. Rush said that was an indication of how much influence the US left has around the world. There is a certain segment on the left that is salivating to go after football the same as was done with tobacco in the 1990's. I could be wrong, but I think eventually this will happen via litigation, same as with tobacco. It will take years due to the popularity of football, but I think it will happen in due course.
Dutch speed skaters have won 23 of 36 medals thus far at the Sochi Olympics. Coach Jillert Anema says the US can't compete with the Dutch because we waste our talent on a "foolish sport."
It's his personal opinion. Who cares? If Limbaugh wants to spin it into a left-wing conspiracy, then.....well, that's Limbaugh's personal opinion.
