If this was in my state and I happend upon the kids,I would stay with them until thier mother returned.... (If the car was open that is which it shouldnt have been but anyway)

What I don't understand -- how did this woman end up so isolated from family and friends? With a 6 month old baby, it shows that less than 2 years ago she had some kind of human contact -- whatever became of him? His family? Doesn't anyone in the fathers' families or her own family care about her or the kids?
Not only have the fathers left the picture, all the grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, cousins have?
I still say cut her some slack, the 6 year old could have opened the door and got out of the car if it got too hot, hopefully would have helped the infant. At least it wasn't an infant left alone.

Actually, the babies were 6 months and 2 years old. There is not much that could do for themselves at those ages.
