Hey Democrats.. If Republicans wanted to fix the vote, all they'd have to do is pass a law which says welfare recipiants couldnt vote.

It would be completely constitutional and also knock out a large segment of the country that votes Democratic non stop without thinking about it, thus ensuring a Republican victory probably forever..

Banning welfare recipients from voting would most likely turn red states blue.

To suggest that federal buying a product from a state or spending = welfare is ridiculous. Why do you guys keep posting this crap?

1/3rd of the countries welfare recipiants live in California alone..

It's an epidemic, folks. Better disenfranchise hundreds upon hundreds of people.

Again,

"It’s just, I think, sad when a political party — my political party — has so lost faith in its ideas that it’s pouring all of its energy into election mechanics. And again, I’m a guy who understands and appreciates what we should be doing in order to make sure every vote counts, every vote is legitimate. But that fact is, it ought to be abundantly clear to everybody in this state that there is no massive voter fraud. The only thing that we do have in this state is we have long lines of people who want to vote. And it seems to me that we should be doing everything we can to make it easier, to help these people get their votes counted. And that we should be pitching as political parties our ideas for improving things in the future, rather than mucking around in the mechanics and making it more confrontational at the voting sites and trying to suppress the vote." - Sen. Dale Schultz (R), Wisconsin

Republicans know people aren't interested in their worthless policies that do nothing to help real people. Instead, they create imaginary problems as ways to prevent people from voting. Limiting early voting, restrictive voting laws, outright disenfranchisement. All just to give them an edge. It is really dispicable and there is no excuse for it. But keep making excuses for yourselves, conservatives. Especially when it comes to voter ID initiatives. The first thing you do is BLAME POOR PEOPLE for YOU MAKING THEM NOT BE ABLE TO VOTE. How truly sick you all are.

You seem content with that. I, and a majority of Americans, am not.
And yet we are still able to catch people who commit voter fraud. Democrats haven't rigged the system, the Republicans just think they will catch a unicorn with voter IDs.

Seriously, if this is such a problem, why not make it a federal law that everyone should have a microchip that only allows them to vote once in an election and they must do it in person, get rid of mail in voting, that would eliminate all possible chances for fraud. Sure, it would cost billions to put in place to prevent something that hasn't even been proven to be an issue, but it would be worth every penny to be able to easily track anyone's voting patterns to prevent all sorts of fraud.

Often the poor do not have the documents needed to get the free ID, as well as getting transportation to the DMV during working hours. If they they have to track down the documents, it can mean fees for birth certificates or marriage licenses (for women who have changed their names) as well as knowing how to get a replacement social security card if needed.

It's not the free id that is causing the biggest problem.....it's just one part of the problem and the judged recognized this.

Don't move the goalpost. The issue is photo ID, not citizenship. A 70+ year old black person from the deep South probably does not have the ability to retrieve their birth certificate.

Citizenship is proven with a social security card.
I realize they are registered. If they can not present the requested ID at the physical voting booth
vote by absentee ballot at their home of residence.
And no, proving citizenship is not done with just a social security card. Practically anyone can get
them though, legal or not.
Any of these secondary records will do:

Baptismal certificate
Hospital birth certificate
Census record
Early school record
Family bible record
Doctor's record of post-natal care

you have to provide quite a bit of docs to get food stamps. If folks are that organized to get food stamps, getting a photo i.d. should not be a biggie.

voter fraud here is rampant. voter id is reasonable. the fact that many vote multiple times and illegals in droves is hardly fair to either party and considering our current irresponsible federal spending spree-- not good for the country.

Any proof that voter fraud is rampant?
