This is close to the reason for Perry calling up the Texas National Guard.
There can't be 1 in a Million in this country that fully understand the "rights" of the Governors over the National Guard and the "rights" of the US Government over the National Guard.

Most people actually believe that the Governors have control of their State National Guards, but that is not the case. Perry has lobbed the ball into the court of Obama and the Pentagon, based on Public Opinion and Public Perception. He has now put Obama and the Defense Department into the position of refusing Border Protection. Interesting Gambit.

Perhaps the Guard could be used to build the fence the Feds never bothered to build.

Actually it has been proven that the Obama admin has cooked the books by counting numbers the previous admins didn't. The ones turned back at the border. The BP. Yes they will cook numbers also. They need to justify the expense of their operation. So no I don't trust Obama's numbers. he has been caught lying about too many other things. IMO his word and that of his admin is worthless.
Why the sudden surge? What changed? Well his rhetoric about delaying deportations, his rhetoric about path to citizenship. Yeah he might as well have rolled out a welcome mat. As a politician he knows words matter. Politicians use them like a sniper uses a bullet. many believe that this surge was caused to try and force the immigration reform bill through. Obama didn't count on people disagreeing with his admins latest approach of cuddling illegals. Now we have an even bigger mess to contend with. He is the POTUS, he owns this mess. Perry may be the gov, but we have all seen how Obama's admin goes after any state trying to deal with illegals on their own.
No magic was ever needed. None. Crack down on the employers first and crack down hard. Take the work away and the illegals will look else where. We saw proof of this in states and cities that cracked down before the fed stopped them.
Remember Obama chastised Romney for wanting to do this very thing...

Nope. He created the mess with his rhetoric of delaying deportations and a path to citizenship. He refuses to allow states to crack down on illegals. If you won't let states participate you own it. Oh and by the way Obama is POTUS, he owns this crisis. Just like Bush owned 911, Katrina and every other goat screw that happened on his watch.
Obama's response to this crisis has been little more than lip service.

Obama himself admitted that his high deportation numbers were skewered. If implementing DACA without congress' permission that allowed hundreds of thousands of illegals to remain here with work permits, releasing thousands of illegal aliens from detainment with many being criminals (to save money or so he says), instructing Homeland Security not to deport any illegal aliens unless they are "convicted" criminals and a constant promise of amnesty (which is why we have these thousands of so-called kids surging our borders now) is doing his job I'd like to know what not doing his job is.

Perry knows more of what's going on at the border than you do. These "half dead kids" aren't half dead because of what they experienced in Central America. They're half dead from the trip, which is being encouraged by Obama. Perry needs to have help down at the border because there are too many for the regular border agents to handle. I heard one of the border agents talking about working at the border facility instead of patrolling his 30 miles of border every day. He was also saying he and his co-workers are staying in hotels at their own expense rather than take diseases and lice/scabies home to their families. So f*** your grandstanding. I've never once voted for Perry (I live in Texas), but he's done far more about this crisis than our president has.
