But in your case, perhaps you were too busy having quickies with the teacher to learn how to spell "coercion."
It is not legal fiction at all, even by the definition you provided.

It is a teacher's abuse of authority and trust. A teacher's role in society is to teach. This is an important authority granted to the teacher, and it comes with an explicit trust that the teacher will not willingly corrupt a child mentally or physically. Children accept this authority over them as a matter of fact, and they have little choice in the matter, as they are assigned to the teacher, not vice versa.

Breaking this trust by using their authority for sexual purposes betrays the implied contract between teacher and student. The teacher is there to educate specific courses, and the child is there to learn what is being taught. Sex outside the classroom is not part of teaching in any way.

A boy who is coerced through a teacher's authority is being forced to do something against his will. Teen boys are sexually curious, for sure, but a teacher imposing her will on him is as much bullying as it is sex, and can leave a boy depressed, confused, and/or angry, as no one likes to be a victim of bullying.

The sex may or may not be a reward at all. The adult woman runs the show, and is doing it for her satisfaction alone. If the boy fails to meet her expectations, this could mess a boy up sexually for the rest of his life because he doesn't understand what he did wrong. Or right. And sex is not part of the social contract he has accepted as a part of life from the first day he started school.

Boys are just like girls- both may not understand what's happening to them, but they know it isn't right when a teacher goes too far.
Such things can mess a boy up mentally and sexually for the rest of his life, just as it does girls. It is all the worse when two female teachers gang up on him, as this completely destroys the social contract.

No harm is inherently done? Hardly. Some of these events have ended up in murder.

Nope- no quickies from the teach for me, but I suspect you may have been permanently damaged by a few by the tone of your post.
…and thanks for the spelling correction. I'm usually a pretty good speller, but like everyone, I make a mistake once in a while.

One piece at a time. The younger generation think nothing of it as is noted by the numerous articles of teacher/student sex encounters.

The folks that advocate sex is natural, give them condoms and tell them about disease can't cherry pick who qualifies. When you break down one section of the wall the rest is sure to follow.

Of course sex is natural, nobody had any problem with saloons that mushroomed around this country, only now conservatives started to pretend that sex is sacred and only when women started to demand equal sexual rights.

In most states the age of consent is 16 (although not in cases like this, where it is with an adult authority figure. Still, most states do acknowledge that 16-year-olds can consent in most cases.

Why spend tax payer dollars for this/jail time. If anything, counseling - though I doubt it
would help. There hasn't been a "cure" for slutty/horny behavior since the beginning of time...

This 16, now 17 year old was a willing participant, WITH bragging rights. They need to change the
LA laws to represent this. I can't see them getting up to 50 years in prison for rape.

Those women "almost" look like some girls do in their late teens today
and the lines are getting more and more blurred with who is who, with the way they look, and behave.

Teachers are not as professional as folks want/think they are.
They are just everyday folks who get jobs teaching our kids.
They are not nuns or priests. Folks would be surprised what they do in their
private lives. With the way our public schools have been going lately,
they apparently are not that bright either...

The teachers had to be dumb, not to know the guy would brag - and with the
sex video tape culture of today, it's kind of a no brainer...

It is public compulsory law that children have to attend school. They have not agreed to
any "contract". The definition of a " legal child" and forcing sex against ones will is
subjective at the age of 16. Some are more mature than others, and that includes,
sexually. That is why I think these statutory rape laws are out of date or always have been,
based on Victorian beliefs that never really existed in present day culture.
What happens "outside of school" should really be private.

IMO, no harm, no foul

What's sad about this whole thing is that there are so many guys of legal age who would happily sleep with those two teachers. Instead these stupid teachers chose to risk their careers by sleeping with an underage boy.

I honestly don't understand how a parent that honestly loves their children could look into the eyes of their son and be okay with a grown woman raping them. I think it's absolutely horrific and sickening the mentality of a lot of people in this country towards our young boys. You wonder why they're so damn angry and strung up on drugs and alcohol and have multitude STDs from sleeping around. Because they get molested at young ages by pedophiles and American society says it's okay and they go out and do destructive things to themselves and others because they still feel violated on the inside and their forced to say and act differently on the outside!

Do we really even want these stupid teachers teaching our kids anyways?
A 16 year old is a young man, not a boy, two years from enlisting in the military,
one year, (17) with a parent's permission.

A 16 year old person is still an underage minor. Stop trying to justify it.

We have laws in this country and without them, it would be a free-for-all.
