A 16 year old person is still an underage minor. Stop trying to justify it.
We have laws in this country and without them, it would be a free-for-all.
Some laws need to be revised - see my other post. I am thinking it should be a misdemeanor
with a hefty fine, if the age is 16 and a willing participant, with someone over 19 years of age.
That particular statue in Louisiana carries a possible jail sentence of 50 years. I think
that is excessive and I'm sure most would agree. I also would not classify it as "child
abuse".
This is why crimes against the State are ridiculous. This kid probably had a ball. He is hardly a victim of anything. This is a non-crime as far as I am concerned. Why doesn't the State require an actual victim to press charges here?
What's sad about this whole thing is that there are so many guys of legal age who would happily sleep with those two teachers. Instead these stupid teachers chose to risk their careers by sleeping with an underage boy.
I agree. They just flushed that college degree down the drain. They will be listed as pedophiles. They can teach English in Korea or Abu Dhabi

A 16 year old is a young man, not a boy, two years from enlisting in the military,
one year, (17) with a parent's permission.
You're correct about the teachers--just absolutely dumb to the core for crossing that line.
Not all 16 year olds are young men. Some are---but some of them are also immature boys, too.
One piece at a time. The younger generation think nothing of it as is noted by the numerous articles of teacher/student sex encounters.
The folks that advocate sex is natural, give them condoms and tell them about disease can't cherry pick who qualifies. When you break down one section of the wall the rest is sure to follow.
I was being facetious. I agree about the entire building collapsing if a section is destroyed. If that stupid kid had just managed to keep his mouth shut we wouldn't be reading about this as I am certain there are similar instances involving various ages and sexes where the parties keep it to themselves.
I agree. Perhaps I could believe the 16 year old having relations with both women (separately at different times.)
But both women at the same time is hard to believe, unless drugs were involved. Plus other posters said the women were long time teachers, one married with children, and related to high ranking community figures.
Those women would know a 16 year old is going to talk/brag, and I doubt those women would risk their careers, families, community standings, and serving serous jail time.
