Yuck, I hate younger men. Why an older women would want sex with a 17 year old is beyond me. He has no idea what he is doing. He just wants to get off. Give me an older man any day who actually knows what a woman likes.
But he had this awesome experience, the temptation to brag was great.
You don't know that, what you are determining is that if you were in that situation and it played out vicariously as you would like it to, then he would have had a great experience. But this was real world, not a porn fueled fantasy. There were three people involved not him and his two sex dolls with a pulse, we don't know what happened, we don't know whether he was the main attraction (I'd bet the farm he wasn't), hell for all we know he spent 2 hours hiding in the bathroom plucking up the courage to get out there and get involved. Do you think he'd admit to hiding in the bathroom, having ED or even being asked to pop a Viagra to keep it up? After all he kind of s--t the bed when he bragged about it, you can't brag about something then come clean that it wasn't really what you wanted, or you look like a bigger dirt bag than you already do.
If you've not been in a similar situation, then you're just blowing smoke. However I'd put really good money on it falling far short of his expectations.
What separates men from boys is that men consciously choose to give in to temptation and live with the consequences, boys cannot stop themselves from giving in to it and don't even consider the consequences. Was the kid a man or a boy by that definition...? Lets see.

Which directly raises issues of maturity. If he enjoyed it and was smart and mature enough, which is better, keeping your mouth shut and having the chance of a repeat, or opening it and causing a scandal? Because he would know (if he was mature enough) that it would blow up in his face, and in the faces of the two teachers. How is it cool to have two teachers indicted for sex with a minor if you're the minor and had fun? How is it cool that one is married with three kids? How is it cool that regardless of conviction two people who (again if he had fun) did him a good turn are going to have their lives changed forever and made significantly more difficult? How is it cool that collaterally he's also changed the lives of one husband and three kids? How is it cool that if that husband divorces he may be able to gain full custody of those kids?
Is it still looking quite so cool? Considering that the majority think they did him a good turn, and he repays them with this? Yep, totally cool
Yes the two women should have thought of those things, but, according to many there were three adults in that room, which means this guy shares some culpability. More-so as he personally announced it. Does that sound like considering the consequences to you? Even if he told only people he trusted, you know what they say about telling secrets to those you trust, you don't just tell them, but also everyone they trust too.
Even if it came out without him blabbing, it's way cooler that he did it and kept quiet than bragging about it, braggarts are not cool, not cool at all.
Anyway I have no issue with the age aspect (although I think the kid proved he was not mature enough to consent), I've thought US Statutory rape laws were quaint, but they are the law. Don't like them change them. That said it has to be accepted that any change will apply to all genders and orientations. If it doesn't then quicker than you can say Nevada and Idaho it will be overturned.
I do have an issue with the fact that they were his teachers, that brings force into the event. Someone in authority can use that authority where inappropriate, even if it's not explicit, or even implied, the person who is subject to something inappropriate to their working lives may respond as though that authority was wielded. It's why we have laws and regulations aimed at limiting people in authority having relationships with people they are responsible for. Applies across education and industry.

Your point is very strong, but the fact that he was BRAGGING would lend credence that he saw this as an extremely positive experience. I do agree that the teachers now see it in a negative light, and I already mentioned how hard it must be on the teachers' families. Terrible.
Is there a double standard, you damned right there is.
LMAO! I am so glad I didn't have daughters for just that reason.. I can hear it now.. Daddy, you have to quit sinking my dates in the lake! I hate you daddy! I you don't love me Daddy!
No kidding!!!! Like ANY healthy, red blooded American lad, I was a TOTAL horndog
