Stop blaming everyone else, Democrats could do whatever they wanted in 2008 to 2010, so why did Obama let wealth inequality get even worse?

And most of the ones listed would do nothing to solve wealth inequality. But if those were the solution, how come Obama didn't implement it when he could?

It has always been raised gradually.

Why do conservatives always l ask this silly question? Why do they act as if the Great Recession never happened? Were you advocating tax hikes smack dab in the middle of the worst economic downturn in 80 years?

Yep, I remember that day in 2009. When the minimum wage went to $7.25. I got a paper cut or something.

We ask it because you are unable to answer it. Those tax increases could have been implemented together with spending packages. So that there was a recession is not an excuse.

And even though Democrats can't implement everything they want, if they have the solution to inequality they should have implemented it in the first 2 years. Instead we saw even higher inequality.

That is because you don't have the solution. Inequality in America is driven by wealth, but Democrats nearly always talk about income, you know those greedy CEOs. Instead of the ones who earn money on capital gains.

lets see...raising it to 15

min wage only effects about 1-2% of ALL workers

min wage plus $3 effects less than 5% of all workers

min wage plus $6 effects less than 15% of all workers

median household income USA WIDE is 55.5k.....mean(average) household income is 77k

BUT:

it also increases the taxes on EVERYONE who fell in that zone
increase of income taxes
increase of payroll taxes
loss/reduction of obamacare/Medicaid/other health care subsidies
increase cost of health premiums
increase of state income taxes (if any)
loss/reduction of social benefits such as welfare/food stamps

then...
workers who were already at $15 because they HAVE A SKILL, are screwed, because now an UNSKILLED worker is making the same as the SKILLED worker

Why gradual? If it helps so many as is claimed, why wait?

Workers on the margin would be hurt, like teens. Adult workers with children might be hurt when increased wages are offset by reductions in government assistance. Childless adult workers who keep their jobs and hours might be better off.
