He's a typical liberal wuss. Too bad for him that the story came out anyway and he looks worse for how he handled it.

Indeed he does.

I think he will be just fine, it isn't like he is running for office or anything, nor do I think Affleck cares what some random people on city data feel about him. I think he will weather this faux controversy just fine.

Why are you defending him so ardently?

Why are people attacking him over this faux outrage? I find this desire to attack a random person over the fact that they do not want to discuss their ancestry because it includes slavery to be a bit childish.

He is a public figure that engaged a Highly Visable international public television program to research his ancestry and then create a TV show about the investigation.

What exactly are you missing?

Sure nothing like the left picking and choosing. Uncomfortable about what, that his family was an elite southern white family? I don't think anyone is disputing Affleck's rights

I am sure if Dick Cheney had done the same you'd be singing a different tune.....but you can tell us you would not!

Nay, the cookie is yours, the mafia and all. At least you stayed true to your family tree, voting Democrat.

I'm guessing your of Brazilian family? Slavery was stopped in the US in 1865.
I chose my words carefully, to fit the facts. Brazil was a kingdom until 1889. The American people retained slavery after the will of the majority of every other constitutionally democratic republic in the western hemisphere had already abolished slavery. Which is what I said..

Good grief! We're talking about ONE person.

That said, I think Affleck is nuts, though a hottie. There's a saying, "If you shake the family tree, you're bound to get some nuts"; also "If you dig under the family tree, you're bound to get some dirt". Affleck should know that.
