That link does not mention the disapproval rating. It also states that every one except Russia had higher approval rating than disapproval which means that there must be a neutral option. My bet is fewer of those 1000 polled were neutral on the USA than the other government bodies. We need the complete data from the poll to make any rational conclusions. World popularity doesn't really mean crap anyways.

Ok....it's a joke.

Would 5000 people speak for the whole world? 50,000? What poll number would reflect the "whole world."

Oh yeah...I'm usually sharper than this, huh? Just state your opinion...you don't have to be patronizing.

It's Gallup. You know...the folks that make a lot of money doing this stuff. But hey...you know the science of polling better than THEY do.
I did state my opinion, and I always state my opinion on these forums. If you want to believe that's patronizing, add that to the collection of made up grievances you've been accumulating lately.

Wow. Never been accused of that before.

On the flip side, at least you're more original than your conservative cohorts....not that that's too hard a task.

No it doesn't...

That's why Gallup did the poll and you read the piece. Because it's meaningless.

Made up grievances? Such as?

First I'm sharp, now I just make up grievances.

I think you're a wolf short tonite. Get some sleep.

Obama is popular with people who want to see America taken down a peg. I think I'd rather have a POTUS they didn't like, that would be a sign he was doing a good job for the country.

They didn't like the last guy, and I'm sure that you're not convincing yourself that he did a good job.

The world, believe it or not, doesn't have it out for the United States. Sure..we've been taken down a peg (ok...several pegs), but we did it to ourselves.

No, we didn't do it to ourselves, our leadership (including this president) has done it on our behalf.

I said it is meaningless without all the data. Being better than Russia, China the EU and Germany ain't a hell of a lot to crow about anyways.

Our leadership? You mean the guys who voted themselves into office without a single vote from the American electorate? I mean, SURELY none of the guys you voted for were losers.

Suck it up. We were never gonna stay on top forever. Besides, getting taken down a peg does wonders to make one think twice about exhibiting excessive hubris.

You know...like invading countries over reports of WMD?

Yeah.

Funny... I'm a Cold War generation kid and crowing about being better than Russia and China used to be a prominent feature of this country and being an American.

Hell, I was indoctrinated from 5 years old well into my teenage, college and Army years of just that.

But now, that's nothing to crow about, huh? Since when? 2008?

I know, I know.
