Considering that the poll is coming from a liberal source, there's automatically no credibility whatsoever. I refuse to believe Gallup is actually doing that.
There's no way that this disaster of an administration can hold any popularity and harbor it, especially after last November's midterms.

Oh I actually do believe it. its easy for others to judge Obama, as "popular" when they dont have to live under the laws being passed by the administration.
Especially when many of them are far more socialized than we are, they view more government as a wonderful thing
Maybe you should engage your vast superior conservative intellect and read the post I was responding to. That poster was postulating that American liberals have heavy influence over the international media, and asked if anyone else besides him had connected those dots.
I adore no politicians. I don't know why you think anyone does. Perhaps it's just more of your vast superior conservative intellect projecting your own proclivities?
Lol...I claim no "superiority of intellect" , and political ideology has nothing to do with any "intellect" I do claim. Opinion has no influence on intellect. I do, however, see a LOT of left wing posters here, play that "education, intellect and enlightenment" card, and I find it annoying. To wit, my opinion is, the American leftist population does have a lot of sway with world politics, because they are more ...malleable...and will bend , far more freely, to other nations motives. The left cares, far more, about "world opinion" of the US than the right, so, in foreign policy agreements, foreign relations, in general, they are the preferred bargaining unit that other nations want to negotiate with.
Again, just my opinion, and I don't belittle anyone's intellect for disagreement on that. We see differences of opinion degenerate into insults, name calling and general ...heated rhetoric..far to often here.
People love you when you are miserable and down and hate you when you are on top... If the world likes you, it's probably because you are more miserable then they are...

the thing is the poll is not about Obama...its about world leadership
1000 NON AMERICANS pooled about which countries do you think are world leaders....
the simple truth is most people can only name 4-7 world leaders
btw this pool has been conducted since 2005...and EVERYYEAR the USA leads the poll
the OP was DECEPTIVE in saying its about Obama... its about world leadership and the level of approval of those leaders
the 2007 poll showed the USA (under bush ) leading also
even though bush's PERSONAL ratings were in the toilet, the USA still lead the world,
Funny how apoplectic some folks get when faced with the simple truth that by simple majority, the American media is friendlier to Democrats than they are Republicans.
Yes, Fox News slants right, but name another network on TV, without the word "Fox" in it, that also slants right?
Yes, the Washington Times slants right. OK, now name 5 other major newspapers in any of the top 25 cities that also slants right?
Yes, the Right has AM talk radio. And almost any FM station that discusses politics is typically a DJ hating on Republicans. So radio is a wash.
The media, by personal preference of journalists (same as academics), by industry, and generally prefer Democrats and tend to be more favorable about them. I wasn't calling it a conspiracy, it's a simple, easily observable fact. The Internet and political forums might be balanced, but the vast majority of folks out there answering poll phone calls are looking at old time media like print and TV.
Thus, from most common sources, the talk/news/opinion about Democrats is generally more favorable than it is about Republicans. I could care less, since I hate both parties equally. Just making an observation of the reality around me.
Now, since our media has the largest reach of any media in the world (seriously, even in Bora Bora you can get CNN), it has an effect on the media in other countries, but by and large, most 1st world nations have media that mirrors ours in that it tends to be kinder to the more liberal politicians and policies, and less kind to the conservative, austere politicians and policies.
Thus, it is not a surprise that an American Democrat polls more favorably in international media. I am making no commentary on the job Obama is doing, I am simple stating that were a Republican doing exactly the same things, they would likely have lower poll numbers in our media and the international media as well. Republicans can figure out how to unravel that Gordian knot for themselves, but the fact is, they are generally always climbing uphill with regard to the media.
and the saddest part is if you asked our youth (15-29) to name the individual leaders of the world....99% could only name 4-6 people
most people will say:
USA...current potus is Obama
Israel... beebie
Russia..putin
England..the prime minister...though some might say the queen
maybe France's or Germany's leaders
korea...kim
after that most people don't know who is the leaders of what country
why not...a test:
with out looking it up name the leader of Romania....................(hint initials are K.I.)
