Good. A city park shouldn't be named after a Ku Klux Klan grand wizard.

What I wonder is if when the TN legislature passes the law prohibiting towns from changing the parks name if they will include an amendment to change the parks names back xD. That would really make people salty.

Yeah it should be named after Thomas Jefferson! Someone who spoke about the beauty of equality and the evils of owning human beings. Oh wait...........

Well, the US Government doesn't seem to have a problem with it - Fort Hood, Fort Lee , Fort Jackson, etc. Not to mention the missile cruiser USS Chancellorsville, named for a Confederate victory. In World War II. the cruiser USS Columbia flew the Confederate flag as her ensign for the duration of the war (of course, that was a different era).

Naming it after Elvis Presley will be just fine. He did spent much of his youth in Memphis and got his start there. Certainly better than some Confederate general.

Well, renaming those bases would be a very good idea. It is highly disturbing to name an American military base after generals who basically committed treason. They swore an oath to protect the USA, but the fought against the USA. Sounds like treason to me.

The next thing we are going to hear: Ft Jackson has been changed to Fort Reggie Jackson, Michael Jackson or maybe Bo Jackson?

Actually, let's turn that around.

Who here thinks that a city park should be named after a KKK grand wizard?
