Did y'all know that when the WAAC was formed, the opposition against women taking on uniformed positions in the army was so vicious that G-2 and the FBI investigated the possibility of an Axis propaganda operation? Turned out to be just good old homegrown prejudiced refusal to allow women to enter into what was considered a male domain.

That just came to mind, for some reason.

Well, 2 women made history, can we all move on now?

Hope they didn't lower the standard, I dont think army did, but who knows when they desperately wanted to "make history"

Yeah ... using air strikes, drone strikes, artillery support, and helicopter gunships. I'd like to see how well your recon platoon would fare without any external support beyond the weapons and manpower organic to the platoon.

And let's not forget all the opposition to allowing Blacks, Asians, Puerto Ricans, and other Hispanics to serve in combat units and/or combat theaters. It's the same thing today with women. It's simple: macho men are scared of a woman potentially being better than them. I am a man, I am not afraid of a woman. If she is my equal than so be it. I don't care.

I am very proud of these 2 women. They will inspire many current and future female soldiers to reach their full potential.

When women have the same physical traits and mental aptitude to deal with stress as men you would have a point.

I don't know why people seem to think men and women are equal. They are not men are better at something while women are better at others. Thousands of years of evolution have made us this way, no need to deny science.

2 women pass Army Ranger School, first female graduates - AOL.com
They passed the test on their best day in ideal conditions. Still doesn't make them Rangers. A real Ranger could go through a day of combat and still complete that course. That is the difference.

Women are simply not suited for combat. There are many important jobs in the military that we need them for, they are a vital part. But combat is not one of them.

Why can't they just stop listening to the social engineers and just stick with their strengths? Organization, efficiency. That is what women are good at and exactly what the military needs.

Like this stupid Rhonda Rousey thing with Floyd Mayweather. What a joke, if she had to stand toe to toe with him in a boxing ring he would probably kill her. If he hit her as hard as he could she might not recover.

Besides the political decision against Japanese Americans in 1942 there were only restrictions against Blacks and Latinos that the enlisting officers determined to be black.

The first quarter of Chinese drafted during WWII were sent to the China Burma India theatre but that was more in line with thinking that they could more easily mix with the indigenous population. Afterwards General Marshall decided the Chinese segregation was not worth the problems which were accepted with Blacks and Japanese and the Chinese went back to the general manpower pool as they were during WWI.

I don't know if it was this thread or the other one but the pre Ranger course was created so that Ranger Privates and Specialist would not flunk out of Ranger School when they got a chance to qualify for a shoulder tab.
