And here, starting with slide 8 are photos of all sides of the truck: LaVoy Finicum shooting: Reaction to the investigation | OregonLive.com
Slide 18 is the autopsy diagram showing where Finicum's bullet injuries were. None on the lower left side, where he was reaching for his gun when shot.

So much for Cox and Victorias claim that no one was armed.

Their reality just crumbled around them and they were constructing a new one on the fly.
If Finicum's fan fiction is anywhere close to describing their mindset, guns (when in the hands of rancher-militia-patriots like Finicum, obviously) are near-magic items that can ward off any other power - certainly any power government can muster. And it had worked, for weeks!
But Cox & Victoria very suddenly realized that a superior power had overcome Finicum. So they either had to ditch the narrative that had propelled them so far, or make up a new one - one where Finicum simply wasn't armed and so the talisman hasn't failed, it's just not there. The magic would still have worked, it just wasn't used.
When you you have to realign your version of the world in a matter of seconds, you're not going to be able to work in all the available data to form a coherent pattern.
Pete Santilli, their alleged 'press agent', who in reality was some wingnut conspiracy radio show host from California, filed a motion to be released and allowed to return to Cali. and be under house arrest. Don't think that is gonna happen, you can read the details on page 24:
You would think we would have this cleared up by now, but nope, the FBI was less than truthful with the State, and County investigators, so this drags on.

The interesting part is that the video from Shawna Cox, directly contradicts her own story, sets her up for further felony charges, and captures the audio of Finicum asking for the police to shoot him and confirming suicide by cop. I am guessing she is regretting that video now.
It will be interesting to find out why the FBI took shots at LaVoy, and choose to lie about it to the State, and County investigators.
I wonder if the FBI HRT operators that lied to investigators will be held to the same standards, and face felony charges?
Dear Lord, that video from inside the car is chilling. Tarp Man is completely convinced that he's the boss of the situation, the one calling the shots. Rarely have I seen a more perfect example of a man who has fully bought into his own delusion. Staggering arrogance.
Incidentally, the video completely demolishes the "nobody was armed" as well as the "hundreds of rounds" stupidity - but did anyone really buy into that in the first place?
From a prosecutional point of view, though - there is a lot to be said for criminals thoughtfully delivering videotaped evidence of their acts. Makes for speedy and short trials, less police effort required, evidence not even the densest jury can misunderstand - money saved all around.
Where is Michelle Fiore, did she go into the witness protection program.
