Ummm, I can't seem to find this "news" outside of not so reliable "news." Can you help me find this being reported by a news channel? Raw Story is very progressive kind of like reading the Enquirer. I am sure for those just in here to find any bad news or gossip took you seriously......

Firearms safety, how does it work? Incidentally, I wish people would effin' stop with the "I was cleaning it" BS. No, you weren't. You were playing with it - but that's just a little too embarrassing to admit, isn't it?
I agree, just about every time some gun fondling idiot shoots themselves or a family member they claim that the gun just went off while they were cleaning it. Modern guns do not just "go off" by themselves, the trigger must be activated by someone. Also, nobody that I know who shoots guns loads up their guns, ammo, gun cleaning kit and drives to the range to clean their guns.
I strongly suspect the real story involves a militia fool showing off in front of his kids and buddies. I bet he was quick drawing from a holster when the gun lost its temper and decided to shoot his kid.
I would argue that someone cleaning a loaded gun is mentally ill to some degree, these are senseless accidents.

Just FYI, RawStory innacurately reported what Brandon Curtiss said in his Facebook post. What he said was, "While clearing a weapon there was an accidental discharge". The shooter was still an idiot, but no sense in spreading false information.

The 41-day occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge cost taxpayers at least $3.3 million to cover the massive police response, a week of shuttered schools and a long list of supplies ranging from food to flashlight batteries, according to an Oregonian/OregonLive analysis of public and tribal budgets.
The total will certainly grow. The amount doesn't include any figures from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, which operates the 187,700-acre bird sanctuary seized Jan. 2 by armed militants.
I know Ammon owns a nice house with some acreage and I believe a business as well. That would be a nice start...
