Most people who are even remotely interested in the polls seem mostly intent on some verification they are not alone with their choice for or against Trump, or whomever the candidate of interest...
Like someone else commented before, I appreciate these polls for exactly what they are, with stated margin of error, confidence level. Data to be considered amidst all the rest that might help us understand which way America is headed and why.
Mostly, however, it seems to me that people don't consider these polls in a way that I always find myself thinking about. With these numbers quoted above for example. Why SO many people DON'T approve of either. These polls are never really that lopsided, landslide favorable for any recent POTUS.
Why is that?
Today more importantly, do Trump supporters simply dismiss all the people who view Trump unfavorably? Don't care to know or understand why?
Think about this even more, and you come to clearly see these polls don't really measure what we think they do, about Trump or Obama in particular. They measure how Americans are divided ideologically, no matter who is POTUS or what kind of job they are doing...
that's not the RCP average. which poll are you cherry picking?

.... more Lanny Davis-CNN fallout.
what fall-out?? lanny's position switched from confirming the CNN story to the NY post and washington post ( as an anonymous source ) to neither confirming or denying the CNN story. it's still unclear if davis was even one of the original anonymous sources for the CNN story.
whomever i believe is the better candidate in any given election.
not a tough concept.
