Everyone must have skin in the game for any government idea to fully work as intended.
Government must rob everyone equally, or government is not treating people equally.

The insurance I had before the monstrous lie did cover everything cheaply.

You can have your socialized garbage as long as I can opt out.............what the hell, I opted of Ostupidcare, I will opt out of that garbage socialized crap that few doctors accept.

You do know that was the plan all along right? The government broke it beyond all recognition, so the government could fly in and fix it!

The goal was to give us all just one choice.

obama told us in 2008, if HRc was elected, she would pass healthcare by nuclear option...something he would never condone.

Just like BLM, obamacare built on a foundation of lies comes tumbling down... happens evry time but the dems not only failed to read and understand obamacare, they failed to read and understand history

6.2%? I think you mean 17%. Vermont tried to implement universal health care and for just that state they were going to raise payroll taxes by 12% as well as an income tax hike. That program ultimately failed in Vermont because there was no way to implement it without causing a financial shock.

Now, Sanders did float the idea of a 6.2%/2.2% payroll tax hike and an income tax hike, but his program still would not brought in enough revenue to pay for what we currently spend.

Done right less than I pay for health care now. The problem is people will point out that the government does very little right. I can not present a valid rebuttal to that argument.

The reason we do not have UHC isn't because of those against it. It's because of those who are for it simply refuse to hold the government reaponsible for anything.

Why wasn't intense pressure put on Obama to fire those running the V.A.?

Things like this are very important but until we demand accountability you can forget it.

" But the vast majority of Americans support it,"

I don't believe this for moment.

MOST are FORCED to join it or have NOTHING after their companies dropped them when they turned 65.

They would MUCH rather have stayed on the companies plans.

Some Americans support it and they're the ones who were barely impacted. It doesn't affect them - so it works. They don't care about millions of other people.

As for all Americans having healthcare, which was the message we kept hearing, there are still a lot of people who simply cannot afford the rising premiums, the high deductibles, and then the maximum out of pocket requirement, before the insurance companies start paying for some serious health issues they may have.

For many people, it's cheaper to pay the penalty than to pay for the cheapest of plans, where you're basically self-insured anyway.

Read this article about how one county is dealing with this.

At least create it on a sliding scale. By doing this, this would remove perceived high risk people (age) from the pool dedicated for shareholder owned for-profit health Insurance companies. However, that would never happen because the "new high risk people would be in the 30 year range.
