"the CDC calculated the number of deaths that are still occurring worldwide due to measles"
How many measles vaccine patents does the CDC own?
Every patient is unique in their medical needs. So ask the doc your questions. BP can be too low if for instance you have dizziness upon standing. Otherwise a low BP is usually beneficial. Lower than 60 diastolic may be too low. Ask the doc. About the same with cholesterol if you have cardiovascular disease. If the meds are cheap and side effect free, you might as well take a minimal dose if you are at high risk.
Most cases of hypertension and high cholesterol can only be treated, not yet cured. It sounds like your husband is getting fine treatment, but it may be that some of his meds can be discontinued. Ask the doc.
I am not asking my husband's doctor anything. HE is the patient and it is up to him to ask questions of his doctor.

The comment is in regard to the HPV advertisement. Not measles.
Follow the money. My SIL passed away 2 years ago from Frontal Lobe Dementia. While in the hospital and only given about 6 months to live, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Doctors said she "needed" her ovaries removed. They badgered the family into this totally unnecessary surgery. The poor woman was already dying from Dementia. Why put her through this? For WHAT? Making more money from her insurance. SIL lived 6 months after her ovaries were removed. The surgery saved her life? It bought her more time? In the best interests of the patient? I don't think so.
