As for the tweet, not sure how it's laughable. Hell, there are veterans that say basically the same thing. If any veteran takes their oath seriously, they would stand behind burning the flag.
Well, there are veterans view flag burners as domestic enemies, and they ALSO take their oath seriously.

Correct.
Burning a flag is protected.
Veterans might not like it, but ultimately, it's protected under the first amendment.
This is all rehash.
Sorry if you don't like it, but, it's the way it is.
Why are the people opposed to burning the flag not speaking out against those who would wear the flag as a bikini, or boxer shorts? I find that as disrespectful.
Waltzed in? Its a message board, anyone can reply to anyone's post. I was just wondering what he had posted that had you up in arms. I had looked at his Twitter but didn't notice anything worth mentioning about the flag. I just saw it as someone telling a personal story about the flag on Twitter, nothing to act all offended by and curse about.
I wasn't "up in arms" and apparently you completely missed the point of that post. Let me spell it out to you again. I re-posted a response FROM SOMEONE ELSE who replied to his twitter post. And BTW, you're right. You are certainly entitled to your own opinion about Mr. Takei just as I am. So, go make your own post so I can reply in the same fashion.

55 pages thread, your question has been answered by other posters.
I am simply disagreeing with you when you say
there are veterans that say basically the same thing. If any veteran takes their oath seriously, they would stand behind burning the flag.
There are MANY veterans who wouldn't stand behind burning the flag, they ALSO take their oath seriously. That is all.
You may not like it, but no need to insult somebody just because they don't agree with you.
As a gay dude yourself, you should be championing all he has done for the LGBT community and what he has done locally and nationally. He has fought to get things done.

Well, don't you have some nerve.
As a "gay dude myself", I do not need anyone else telling me who I should be championing for my cause. I am 45 years young and all of the progress I have made with others in my life and for the LGBT community has been due to reaching out to others and educating them long before Mr. Takei came out of his Hollywood closet. Furthermore, I am a veteran as well and don't need to be told how I should believe or take an oath. BTW, where in my post did I say anything about whether or not I agree with burning the flag?
I haven't insulted anyone, it seems that you have taken offense to me doing the SAME as YOU: Stating an opinion.
well, there is no need to judge somebody, better?
