You are the one lying. Even your own "politico" article says 36 miles of certain kind of barrier was built, while hundreds of miles of other kinds was erected. Why are you trying to pass the 36 as if it represented the full length of the barrier erected? Keep your lies to yourself

They built 613 miles in the most porous areas, but according to Trump there is more illegal immigration than ever, so obviously it didn't work.

Didn't you hear?

Trump is going to renegotiate NAFTA or get rid of it.

That negotiation could include Mexico paying for the wall. They SHOULD pay for it after decades of encouraging illegal immigration into the United States.

Mexico needs to export to us more than we need to export to them.

We have a trade deficit with them anyway, plus U.S. companies firing their workers and moving to Mexico.

There are so many ways to change things more to our advantage when it comes to Mexico.

Stop the drain of jobs from the U.S. to Mexico.

Stop allowing Mexico to flood the U.S. with cheap labor that drives down American wages and keeps Americans out of work and on welfare, burdening the taxpayers.

Institute tariffs to get rid of the trade deficit we have with them.

These moves would also help Mexico, which needs to learn to stand on its own two feet instead of depending on the U.S. as both a dumping ground and ATM machine.

Mexico is a mess because of political corruption.

It's a typical Third World country with a wealthy few soaking up all the money and not caring in the least about ordinary Mexicans.

They need to have another revolution. We can't do it for them -- they have to do it themselves.

We are having our revolution already, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador a Socialist Nationalist is peaking in the Polls he is going to Nationalize US Assets if stupid Trump continues to damage our trade relations.

Pehaps we even sign treatis with China and Russia. And subtitude US investment and assets with Chiense and Russian Assets.

I repped Pknopp though for the excellent point that CNN can no longer be considered a legit news agency and anything they report resembling the truth is merely a coincidence. Since this comes out of CNN, I have to think that maybe Mexico might build the wall. If they reported that the Juarez desert was dry, I might wonder at what tasty fish might be extracted from it.

Final point: everyone knows Trump has no authority to force Mexico to build a wall. The idea was always economic coercion, but again, no one really cares. OP is a typical lib who thinks he is way ahead of the curve, when in fact, he is like one of the blind guys in the parody of the elephant, or something, who has not even the frame of reference to know how little he understands.

By the way, the wall could be built for virtually nothing if done my way. We have purposefully unfair regulations that force us to de-commission and replace our truck fleets prematurely. They are univerally sent to Mexico where they are suped up, and, under NAFTA regulations, driven back into America by Mexican companies. It is one of the most abject cases of theft against American companies and an even more abject welfare give away to Mexico. I think it would be great if we took our old tractors, pattern parked them right along the border, and just did enough diggging to sink the wheel-line in the earth. Voila--a ten or twelve foot wall for almost literally nothing that could be added to later, perhaps running a fence on top.

Poetic justice at its finest.
Oh you sweet, sweet child... If that makes you feel better, then sure...

Eminent domain.

That's easy.

What is the better system you have for that 40%? And how is 40% "only" - that's a large percentage.
A visa entry-exit tracking system with fingerprinting.

Make things up much?

I watch Hannity, and nothing of the sort happened.

Hannity is just as much against employers of illegals as he is against illegals.

LOL!

Sure you will. Just what you need. Hordes of vodka-swilling, neo-Cossacks running around and scooping up your women.

You never give up, do you?

The double fencing -- which is what was to be built -- was only built for 36 miles.

The other 600 miles or so were left uncompleted.
