This shouldnt be a surprise though. Donald Trump has demonstrated contempt for any press coverage he dislikes, openly attacking reporters in press conferences.

The destruction of our democracy marches on.

Amazing what some paranoid people think is going to be the destruction of our democracy. Thumb sucking Barbie doll hugging safe place time.

The constant scrutiny from the media and the heaps of criticism may prove to be more than Trump can handle.

He isn't even in office yet and he's beginning to crack. Will he try to push a lot of the burden off on Pence?

Maybe this presidentin' isn't as much fun as he thought it would be.

from your article:

“The briefing room is open now to all reporters who request access,” White House Correspondents’ Association President Jeff Mason said in a statement Sunday. “We object strenuously to any move that would shield the president and his advisers from the scrutiny of an on-site White House press corps.”

They have to make room for the Favored Press. Guess Breitbart and Fox News will be Herr Trump's go-to news outlets.

He needs media that doesn't question the master and releases the news they are told to release. I.e., propaganda and yes men (if they are not sycophantic enough, Hannity will 'train' them.)

Fox News already attends the briefings not sure about Breitbart because I think you have to be a legitimate news organization.

Now we are going to have bloggers asking questions in a room with a few hundred people, oh yeah this is going to work out real well. Maybe they can rent out one of the basketball venues in the area.

“This is about greater accessibility, more people in the process,” Sean Spicer said Sunday on Fox News Channel’s “Media Buzz.” Involving more people, including bloggers and others who aren’t from the mainstream media, “should be seen as a welcome change,” he said.

and i have no problem with that. nixon made the mistake of covering up the watergate break in, and trying to hide things from the people.

that isnt the issue, its what the press did afterwards taht started causing problems. the press got it in their minds that because of what happened to nixon, they felt they could influence who won elections, what policies would be put in place, etc. they decided to flex muscles and power they in reality didnt have, and instead of reporting the news, and doing proper investigative journalism, they went beyond that into sensationalism. they would report stories long before they had proper evidence because they wanted to "one up" everyone else. and that ultimately created the situation we have today, the press is in the pockets of the DNC and whom ever they want in office, and as such we have a media that is no longer trusted by the average person.

They are considering a larger room. They are considering allowing more reporters in. There is nothing wrong with this. Do not go to your safe room, you will be okay.
What's got their panties in a bunch is those "others" that will now be allowed in to the press pool. Talk Radio,Bloggers,Internet News reporters etc ALL will get press creds.

OMG! This just cannot stand, we, the current MSM misinformation spin masters are the ONLY ones who should be allowed to spew forth our opinions as truth...

You mean verses the ones that admitted (or were shown) they were in the tank for Hillary? Those oh-so venerable "news" operations?
Yeah, it'll be horrible to get other outside views on what's going on. Maybe, just maybe the "press" will go back to doing their jobs of impartial investigation and reporting?

If you read about this association I say its time to end its monopoly on white house press coverage.
