This move is meant to accommodate MORE reporters. I don't see that as a bad thing.

The current Press Briefing Room was once a florida-type room, and then a pool, so it's certainly not very big. I'm sure they'll find another use for it if they move the press briefings elsewhere.

If you read about this association I say its time to end its monopoly on white house press coverage.
Complaining about exclusion without identifying who is being excluded amounts to just complaining, is this a solution looking for a problem?

According to a prior article every reporter who requests can gain access to the briefing room, who is being left out?

This limits access to the White House Press Secretary Staff as indicated by several news organizations.

More does not necessarily equate to better, they ask questions, it is public information.

I don't blame President Trump for seeking a larger press briefing room. I understand that his first presser barely had enough room for both the reporters and Trump's cheering section.

The current press room is built over Franklin Delano Roosevelt's old swimming pool. The pool is still there, and I suppose President Trump will have it restored to its former use, of course, complete with shower fixtures, perhaps made of gold.....I hear that President Trump enjoys those...

What is the point in having over a hundred people in a room for a half hour briefing, will they go around asking each for a question.

There are 49 seats all picked by the WHCA. I say scrap it pick a cross section that represents American, 50% from the left and 50% from the right instead of 90%+ liberal press as it is now.

A common criticism of the White House news briefings is that top reporters are given priority access to the Press Secretary and are allowed follow-up questions, while those in the back rows are rarely called upon. Such seating assignments are selected by the White House Correspondents' Association, not Press Secretary or White House staff.

This shouldnt be a surprise though. Donald Trump has demonstrated contempt for any press coverage he dislikes, openly attacking reporters in press conferences.

The destruction of our democracy marches on.

Wow that's a shocker - NOT. Trump's Presidency will not stand the light of day, it will have the transparency of a brick wall. How can you compile enemy lists when you have the nosy-parker press snooping around?

From what I have read this cuts down on access to Trumps Press Secretary Staff by moving the press corp. to another location, more is not necessarily better.
It will be entirely up to Trump, on what he wants to do with the Press and there is nothing they can do about it. If he revoked the White House Credentials of CNN and others, we, as his supporters would cheer him on. They have the approval rating of peoples shoe sizes now. Maybe they will learn to be Journalists again, and this is a wake up call.

There are plenty of News people out there that report the News and don't spin it as they report it, and Trump could bar CNN and the other biased News Folks who campaigned against him, and no one could do anything. I think he should consider it.

Considering it the "press" who started this mess, it is THEY who should offer the olive branch.

Do you really think they will?

Trump has proven that he can go around them.

It is up to THEM to prove they are necessary.

As they say,"DON"T start a fight you CAN'T finish!"
Yes indeed. I think the Press is going to have a rough ride, since Trump seems to forget very little. I hope his agenda is to weed out the ones on his Target list, which this seems to be the first step. If he has a lot more people in the Room, the Hillary Press, will get a lot less questions, if any at all. I am sure he has it worked out already.

I am still waiting for CNN to get Sanctions from Obama, for interfering in the Elections by passing on Information to one Candidate. Just for that one act, Trump should revoke CNNs Press Credentials.
