It's amusing (and pathetic) to watch the Trumpettes try to defend and spin this terrible news.
I'm all for making changes to improve the ACA, but I don't see anything in this bill that improves access to health insurance coverage, which is what the Republicans have been saying they want to do. It gives a tax break to those with above-average incomes, and that's about it.
So there are plenty in this world OK with dumping people off medicare but the report claims a 20% spike in premiums (later falling inline with current estimate 10 years down the line). I'm pretty sure that will make this a nogo unless someone comes up with a good explanation how this will not raise premiums.
Progressive tax... so no. Poorest pays less, richest pay more.
If you make 50K, you might pay an additional x percentage.
If you make 20k, you might pay several % off of the guy making 50K.
If you make 150k, you will pay several % above the 50K person and so forth...
However, benefits are all the same. Standardized across the entire country.
Ah, you're using liberal math.
Let's try actual math.
Person A makes $1,000,000 and pays 10%. He pays $100,000.
Person B makes $25,000 and pays 10%. He pays $2,500.
Now, I know liberal math says $2,500 is greater than $100,000, but real math states that $100,000 is far greater than $2,500.
You see, using a straight percentage does mean those making more pay more.

Until you can prove to me that everyone can make the same salary as anyone else, then your argument is worthless because that's how capitalism works. It is all about inequality. Survival of the fittest. There will always be more people at the bottom versus the top because.. the free market. The only way you can attempt to equalize this, is through progressive taxation.
But when that somebody gets emergency care, should they lose everything they have?
These people can't afford the deductibles anyway. It's too expensive. If these people had money, they would have insurance in the first place. If you need long term medial care, they can sign up for Medicaid anyway.

Why would I need to prove that.
I already proved that a straight equal percentage means that people who make more pay more.
Do I need to run through that math again?
