I guess under that logic if Trump were to pick his nose or rub his backside at a serviceman's memorial service, you would be fine with that.
The bar is so low with Trump that all we need to ask whether his behavior is acceptable is, "What would a baboon do?"
The low bar will never be as low as your beloved obama has set....never again will it get so low, unless you don't put your hand over your heart during the National Anthem...oh, wait.....
As the daughter of a 30-year career Army Officer, I find Trump's antics to be disrespectful in the extreme. One does not hop around like a 5-year old and lip sync the National Anthem as a sign of respect. My father fought for this country in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam (two tours), and I am deeply offended by Trump's infantile display at what should be a solemn occasion.
But you have to understand, that he is obligated to play to his base of supporters. This bunch, from the dregs of society, has no recognition of such things as respect and politeness. He knows that he can't get any good responses from the rest of us, so he always has to fall back on those who share his disdain for good behavior. It's why he avoided the media in Europe, so he could hurry back to a rally in Iowa.
So, you say it's o.k. for some and not others....WOW....not matter what your position is......

I'm one who believes that respect for remembrance ceremonies for military fallen, even for the sunset ceremony and for ANY funeral for military casualties be complete and incorruptible.
I've done my military service in the early 60's and know enough to doff cover and stand at attention when anywhere near the occasion of the striking of the flag. I even pull to the shoulder in respect for ANY passing funeral cortege.
I believe in teaching by example. How can we expect future generations to assimilate the respect for the standards if we ourselves are prepared to overlook this in our leaders?
Trump shows by every facet of his personal behaviour, he thinks himself above displaying respect for anyone other than those holding paper on him.
