They were honoring the victims.

Somehow you have twisted this around. They came to honor the victims. The crowd appreciated that, and that the act sent a message to terrorists. The crowd applauded the message. That's all.

I took it as the group of Muslims were paying their respects to those killed. They would be enemies of Radical Islam if that is the case.

You're exactly right. Remember when Hillary came out swinging that terrorists are merely misunderstood and just really only need a good job to stop slaughtering innocent people?

Yep, after watching the end I got it. Peaceful response and sympathy disarm anger in intelligent people, as Ghandi proved. Attacking normal people who are afraid of Islamic Terrorism does nothing but create backlash.

Exactly, the best way to defeat them is to accept Muslims, yeah look at Europe, heck look at London. They elect a Muslim for their mayor and already in a short time, 2 successful attacks and 5 thwarted attacks!

Yes, I do actually hold all Christians accountable for extremist elements. And Westboro IS sufficiently down-shouted sufficiently by Christians.

The oldest University in Islam, however, cannot and will not call ISIS apostates. They recognize that ISIS is acting out a valid interpretation of Islam completely keeping with what the Koran actually teaches.

Also, there is nothing ISIS does that Mohammed himself didn't do. Mohammed HIMSELF.

Yes, the religion IS responsible. Without the religion, no perversion of same.

It's almost like saying the Holocaust wasn't the predictable outcome of Nazism. After all, the vast majority of Nazis weren't violent and never killed a Jew.

There should be much more pressure on the Muslim communities to be alert and sniff out suspicious behavior.
If a subset of the population wanted a redneck travel ban, or claimed that their religion was incompatible with or way of life, you probably would have seen that.

well, I am afraid more and more people are used to the "new normal."

Denial is likely to continue until the price gets too steep. The 3,000 victims of 9/11, it turns out, did not suffice to shake Western complacency. 30,000 dead, in all likelihood, will also not suffice. Perhaps 300,000 will. For sure, three million will. At that point, worries about Muslim sensibilities and fear of being called an "Islamophobe" will fade into irrelevance, replaced by a single-minded determination to protect lives. Should the existing order someday be in evident danger, today's relaxed approach will instantly go out the window.

It looks like Israel offers a control case. Because it faces so many threats, the body politic lacks patience with liberal pieties when it comes to security.

Don't bet on it.

When is the last time, anywhere, that a Muslim turned in another Muslim for suspicious activities?
