No, nicet4 is correct. America is a republic, not a democracy.

There's a reason we use the system of Electoral College votes and it's a good one. The difference in popular votes between Clinton and Trump was about the same difference between them in New York.

One state doesn't get to determine who the next president is.

Like it or not - he won, fair and square - and the time to stop whining was about 10 months ago.

Lighten up, people, it's clear English is not the OP's first language. No need to criticize.

As I said the thing here is that NO Trump is not a democratic President as you actually stated, stop pretending that you live in a democracy cause you don't.

AND YOU MUST ADDRESS THAT ISSUE.

Thread fail.

Trump won the EC.

Dems lost a gimme due to insisting on foisting a pre chosen person with massive negatives who then ran a loser of a campaign.

If president were elected by popular vote instead of electoral college, the candidates would have campaigned differently. Trump didn't spend much time in the most populous states because his strategy was to win electoral votes, not popular votes.

Personally, I would prefer we switch from electoral college to popular vote. I'm in favor of greater democracy.

GET IT FOR ONCE.
Trump did win per the rules/laws of our election system that have been in place for sometime. Are you not familiar with American government?

This is actually the fifth time that a candidate won the popular vote and not the electoral vote: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...vote/93441516/ If US citizens thought this was unfair, it goes back far enough in time for it to have been protested and changed, but that was not the choice made. The first time was in 1888, gee, for those with math skills, that is a LONG time to work to change something that wasn't considered fair.

We are brainwashed, we are educated and believe in abiding by the laws and rules set up in our country, sorry if that steps on your toes!
