Don't they teach high school civics anymore? We covered the Electoral College (and why it was established) in ninth grade.
From the OP (and his/her following posts), they obviously don't teach grammar or spelling anymore, either.
No they don't, today we have some real stupid people.
Like people who believe the civil war was fought over slavery.
Question for those that believe this garbage; Maryland was a northern state, a member of the union and yet slavery ended in Maryland on November 1, 1864 just 6 months prior to the end of the civil war.
Somehow I find the idea that hundreds of thousands of white kids on both sides would fight to the death for or against slavery to be a very stupid notion especially since the vast majority of southern families didn't own any slaves.
On Aug. 22, 1862, President Lincoln wrote a letter to the New York Tribune that included the following passage: "If I could save the Union without freeing any slave, I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves, I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone, I would also do that. What I do about slavery and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union."
So, class, raise your hand if you believe the slavery was a major issue in the civil war.
I live in a democracy you live in a thing pretended to be a democracy. You are expected to fight to defend a government which doesn't represent you and which arrived ther against the will of the people. Good luck with that.
You don't live here and you're whining about OUR system?
Slow day for you or something? Our system is none of your business.
Sounds like the OP doesn't like how our system of Government and elections works. I have a feeling that if the results were reversed and Hillary won the electoral vote and Trump won the popular vote then the OP would be ok with the results.
I didn't vote for Trump or Hillary. I felt both were part of the problem and not a solution. I do support Trump's position on both legal and illegal immigration. WE do need to be more selective about who qualifies as an acceptable immigrant. Far too many legal immigrants end up on government subsidies. WE have also been far to lax on enforcing our immigration and employment laws.
Not thst means that the electoral college is antidemocratic, and that you are being rulled by THE MOST ANTIDEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT EVER IN WORLD'S HISTORY.
He won the presidency by electoral votes but lost the popular vote. I get what you're saying but his sorry arse is in the White House and we have to respect that.
I neither respect nor accept that! That SUB-HUMAN PIECE OF WHITE TRASH GARBAGE, is all that and nothing more!
Of course I don't live in a democracy - I live in a republic country. I've never pretended otherwise.
SO THERE IS NO ISSUE.
Yes there is an issue cause many of you complain of the riot of the Anarchists. Well you must address the issue that those "riots" are in fact Democratic manifestations of the crisis of the electoral college system, Citizens cant be treated as childs unable to govern themselves and if you treat them like that then you will have RIOTS. And that is the Issue you MUST address
