I thought about that, too. If it's food/water/baby formula/diapers, things like that, I can see it. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do for self/family survival. BUT, the stores will be trashed in the process. And that's unfortunate because it makes business owners less forgiving of people just trying to get absolute basic necessities for self/family in a time of absolute crisis.

I agree. I remember looters stealing big screen TVs during Katrina and Celine Dion wailing "Let them have those things." Funny, she didn't follow up with "I will buy you a TV."

But people need to wake up and have emergency supplies, including water, pet food and medicine, at home and in their cars.

You could make a list of what you took and repay the owner later on.

Let's see. They seemingly couldn't make it to the store to get food BEFORE the storm but all of a sudden can get out to the store in 8 feet of water? I can see if this was many days to a week later that they ran out of food, but the next day???? Come on now.

Yeah, but what if you're in the mood for Doritos and all you bought were Fritos?

Maybe the op is an immigrant. Or went to a public school run by educational bureaucrats. Who knows?

Back to the thread. Disasters in certain areas of the US bring out thieves like flies to guano.

It's in their DNA, I guess.

In one way, of course he is.

In another way, he's as much of an immigrant as I'm 28 feet tall and 7000 years old. With this name he's only been on the board a short time, but it's very clear as to what he is.
