You just can't help yourself taking every chance at partisan pot shots can you? I hope it makes you feel better or somehow makes your day go better...

I know it's P&C but these types are weird.

Only thing political I will say is we spend way too much time fighting with each other over stuff that isn't that important. Is the wall really going to solve our problems? Seems like if it ever went up it could easily go from keeping folks out to keeping us trapped inside with all these crazy gun nuts.

He loaded and reloaded again and again and again, to kill as many people as he possibly could.

My point is, terrorism by the FBI's definition is "the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.”

So, while it may or may not have been political (more information will come out eventually), I consider Stephen Paddock planning ahead to kill as many people as he could (at least 50 dead and over 400 injured), an act of terrorism.
What are you postulating was Stephen Paddock's political or social objective? What did he hope would result from the terror he incited?

Aside from the fact this is the Politics and Other Controversies forum; and given that I'm a frequent poster in here and will offer an opinion down the road sometime, I'm going to refrain as this is just not the appropriate time to advantage the unparalleled inflicting of death and injury on so many families to further any political or controversial position.

My thoughts go to all those undergoing such a terrible tragedy and attempting to make some sense of it. So many families impacted is just heartbreaking.

Yes, lied hoping to spark debate. Then if it was true he would claim he knew it all along. Par for the course around here.

Kudos to Obama, Schumer, and Pelosi for keeping politics out of their Twitter responses to the tragedy .

But not Hillary....she couldn't resist...bringing up the NRA in her Twitter response..
At least she is just a retired elderly woman not POTUS.

Heck, just call your local Academy, and ask if their AR-15's have an auto switch. Prepare to be laughed at, and possibly even hung up on.

Learning from the events, tragedy, horror and madness and Seeking Workable Solution is the only thing(s) that will help our over-all society.

The hard choices is necessary ..... we need not whine and cry about the cost, and simply make the investment and the decision that can make society safer and life more progressively civil, and improve our civic conditions while we rebuild our economic systems involving means for any american to invest themselves, gain assistance as they demonstrate their ability to contribute to the positive development and growth of society, and together ... rebuild American" with fair and honest principle that deal with the hard choices that is necessary.

All people won't like it... but we move forward by the "majority principles", that is what is the system of American decision making is based upon, driven and supported by the rules of law.
Now, "the law" must reconsider "crime and punishment" and ensure it is managed with a deterrent penalty that gives it the means to protect society.
