No, as Hillary said, they would do UK, and Australian style gun bans, and mandatory "buy backs". Not all Australians turned in their guns. However, they can't use them, and if they are caught for whatever reason they will go to jail. They can also make you have to register ammunition when you buy it, like they are doing in California, and place high taxes on it. It is a constant battle against these idiots.

Dianne Feinstein Wants to Ban Commonly Owned Semi-Autos, Again!

"On Wednesday, Senator Dianne Feinstein introduced S. 2095, which she is calling the Assault Weapons Ban of 2017. The 125-page firearm prohibition fever dream is perhaps the most far-reaching gun ban ever introduced in Congress."

"Subject to an exception for “grandfathered” firearms, the bill would prohibit AR-15s and dozens of other semi-automatic rifles by name (as well as their “variants” or “altered facsimiles”), and any semi-automatic rifle that could accept a detachable magazine and be equipped with a pistol grip, an adjustable or detachable stock, or a barrel shroud. And that’s just a partial list. “Pistol grip” would be defined as “a grip, a thumbhole stock, or any other characteristic that can function as a grip,” meaning the ban could implicate even traditional stocks or grips specifically designed to comply with existing state “assault weapon” laws.

Needless to say, semi-automatic shotguns and handguns would get similar treatment.

Also banned would be any magazine with a capacity of greater than 10 rounds or even any magazine that could be “readily restored, changed, or converted to accept” more than 10 rounds."

"his bill is nothing more than a rehash of Feinstein’s failed experiment in banning “assault weapons” and magazines over 10 rounds. Except this time, Feinstein would like to go even further in restricting law-abiding Americans’ access to firearms and magazines that are commonly owned for lawful self-defense. "

Remember, "f Dianne Feinstein could confiscate all guns she would- except hers.

That would also ban most hunting rifles.

Well well
pretty much the same news we have here in our big cities.

Not seeing a reason to "turn in my semi auto" if some thug is shooting another one with a handgun.

Drive-by handgun shootings in the two cities feature almost daily on newscasts. Virtually all of these incidents are attributed to turf wars between crime gangs fighting over the drug trade and other illegal activities.

As always, making comparisons with northwestern European countries. But the places in the U.S. where most gun violence happens don't resemble Denmark by any stretch.

Many non-northwestern European countries have even lower rates (than Denmark) - Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Slovakia, Poland, Croatia, etc.

I was speaking more to how criminal street gangs settle their "turf" wars than single acts of random violence. The image of a gang member wielding a switchblade carried inside his black leather jacket with his hair slicked back with bear grease has been replaced by a Glock inside baggy athletic wear riding inside a spinner rimmed Escalade rolling up for a drive by.

Switchblades are legal here again. They still have to be 3.5 inches or less to be carried in a pocket but nevertheless they are legal. That rolls back 4+ (closer to 5) decades of them being illegal. Illegal to carry anyway, no matter the length. Gangs meeting in the schoolyard after hours for a "rumble" where the most lethal weapons used might have been a switchblade are ancient history. Far more common are drive by's that spray rival slingers on a contested street corner.

Nope...this ain't "Happy Days" anymore. Gangs now use pilfered and smuggled full auto hardware now and there's BIG money motivating that methodology. Some punk with a switchblade is of far less concern than a dozen punks with automatic weapons hyped up on their own supply of marching powder.

Oh sure, knife and fist/blunt instrument assaults still happen, but overall with violent street gangs they prefer to spray down their turf fires with bullet hoses. Bullied kids are bringing guns to school. Time was not so long ago really that a kid bringing a gun to school to deal with the jocks pushing him around was unthinkable. Now it seems to be a daily occurance. Students have to walk through metal detectors just to get to class, and the streets surrounding schools are controlled by vicious gangs killing each other for the right to sling their poison to the student body.

Its more the latter sort of thing I was addressing in the post you quoted from.

I completely agree with you though.
