That goes for motorcycles also.....
Some people like to take their cars to the track. My M3 is limited to 156 MPH by a governor. I rarely exceed 85 on the highway but enjoy opening it up at the track.

Cars are designed for transport.

Guns are designed to be lethal weapons.

What else is on your long list? How about restricting people from eating more than 2000 calories a day if obesity kills more people than gun violence?

THREAD FAIL.
Killing is not always bad, well it is bad but say a woman is getting beat to death by her ex and she shoots him is that bad?

Cars are intent for travel, the highest limit is 85 mph why do you need a car that will go faster? Only police need a faster car.

By the way, we tried laissez-faire unregulated small government in the 1920's. After a brief party of wild excess, it crashed and gave us the Great Depression.
Your point is well taken, and there is supposed to be a point somewhere in the middle where government is protecting resources and citizens without being over-reaching. The problem is that doesn't work anymore because of rampant, unchecked corruption. With corruption levels so high our government can't work the way it was designed to. Corruption has completely submerged the checks and balances that are supposed to be in place.

So until the big-time revolution happens that changes everything, I would just as soon the government be as small and unobtrusive as possible.

I could see this idea being pushed in the near future. If the whole driver-less car industry picks up, cars literally won't be able to go above the speed limit anyways.

Yet cars have been used to deliberately kill people.

Cell phones should be banned because people use them while driving and also walk into traffic because they are looking at their phone.

Very good! Thank you for pointing out that personal responsibility has to figure into this. I mean, how many of us really wants the government taking care of us like a nanny?
